In modern society, there are widespread beliefs about a man’s responsibilities. It is considered chivalrous when a man pays for his significant other. But when he doesn’t or isn’t able to, it is seen as a stain on the character of the man. This impression has sparked countless debates, for which both sides have armies of support. It was only recently that Gabrielle Union revealed that she prefers to cover her expenses and also contribute an equal proportion to Dwyane Wade‘s for their family.

Her admission was surprisingly met with trolling. Nonetheless, like every time before, Union stood tall explaining it is by her own choice that she decides to contribute equally. Speaking on such grounds, a three-time NBA All-Star provided his two cents on Union’s viral confession.

Gilbert Arenas was back on VladTV to discuss the trendiest stories and beliefs around the world. Interestingly, it was the host who did most of the talking this time. VladTV let the past flow by speaking about horrid former marriage. He concluded by saying no relationship can work unless both parties contribute some financial value. After lending his ears to the host, Arenas seemed to agree with the speaker’s opinion.

Diving deeper into the science of modern relationships, Agent Zero feels both men and women should find partners that align with their own preferences. Citing an example, he pitched the ’50-50′ theory of Gabrielle Union.

The former Washington Wizards guard elaborated – “Equal means I’m going to treat you equal. If I’m paying all your bills, you really have no value for me and I’m going to keep f****ng whoever I f**k. You have no rules over me. Now if we’re 50-50, am I going to f**k someone? No, that’s out of the window.”

“Find the person that has your values you are looking for,” was Arenas’ main point.

Arenas stated that due to the contributions being made, he wouldn’t jeopardize such a relationship. However, when there is no input, it gives him the license to pursue a relationship that will add value to his life. It is a unique way of seeing life, but also one that is quickly catching on.

According to him, they keep “bouncing” primarily because the women in their life expect to be “takers”. Controversially, the 41-year-old even claimed it is “prostitution” to a certain degree.

As charged as Arenas’ comments were, they seem to be triggered by the difficult relationship he shared with his ex-wife. Previously, Arenas had spoken with VladTV about their grueling child support settlement. But his comments this time seem much more far-reaching. The 3-time All-Star spoke at length about his expectations from women and relationships.
