Dwyane Wade’s journey from Chicago’s South Side to NBA royalty is exactly how legends are made. With his acrobatic drives, clutch performances, and now with the Miami Heat retiring his jersey No. 3, the icon has carved his name into basketball history. But while fans eagerly await the unveiling of his statue, a heartwarming video shows that Wade’s priorities remain firmly rooted in family.
The Heat icon, through his Instagram Story, shared a video in which we can see the former shooting guard and his 5-year-old daughter having the best time of their lives. The two are swinging in circles at night time, all smiles and giggles. This is not the first time that the 42-year-old player has posted about her daughter. A few days back Wade shared a picture of Kaavia wearing her kindergarten uniform and holding a board where all her favorite things and goals were written. The former point guard had even asked his fans to pray for his daughter since she was just starting school. However, this doesn’t end here.
Wade also took Kaavia to the 2024 Paris Summer Games with his wife Gabrielle Union. The 5-year-old had the chance to experience one of the best performances of the US national team in the Olympics. She was present in the stands of the Final game between France and the USA with both of her parents. This experience was enough to leave a mark on “Shady Baby,” that she would cherish for years.

Kaavia is Wade’s fifth child and also the only child he has with Gabrielle Union. The two, after struggling, welcomed the young one home through surrogacy on November 7th, 2018. In an age where athletes are often criticized for being disconnected from reality, Wade’s actions serve as a powerful reminder of what truly matters. However, as mentioned before Wade has a really important day coming soon.
