2020 was a bit troublesome for both Terry Crews and Gabrielle Union. The wife of the former Miami Heat superstar was fired from the sets of America’s Got Talent in 2020, and she did not hold back from calling out the reality show for discrimination. Union expected that she would receive some support from her fellow friend and the host of AGT, Terry Crews. However, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor did not stand up for Union, which later turned into a beef between the two. Nearly four years later, here is what Dwyane Wade has to say about the viral beef.
In his recently shared YouTube video, Wade revealed, “I appreciate him bringing it to the forefront the way he did because I would never bring him to the forefront. This is a conversation that him and I had as two men.“ Dwayne Wade is speaking about the apology he and his wife got from Crews. Although the television host called out Union several times on Twitter, he later realized his mistake and gave a public apology.
He continued, “We were in the same environment. We had already had some public words going back and forth on social media. Not just what he said about my wife, but I even said, ‘Man, somebody take Terry Crews’ phone’.” Crews had a lot to say about Union after she called him out for not supporting her. He wrote on Twitter, “I’m a hog. You’re a chicken. Just ‘cuz you gave me eggs— Don’t mean I owe you bacon.”, indirectly taking a shot at Union. Wade replied with a tweet, “Someone please take @terrycrews phone“.

Even after all this drama, Dwayne Wade was ready to accept Crews’ apology. He said, “I am a fan of Terry Crews…I’ve become a fan and so, you know, I’ve never had any ill verses….We’re going to be uncomfortable if we don’t have any conversation. So let’s have this man-to-man conversation because that’s what most people won’t do.” Also, Crews did not apologize once, but several times publicly, which could be another reason why Wade wanted to end the beef.

Crews used Twitter to apologize to Union. He said, “You are a role model to the entire black community and In my desire to be professionally neutral as your co-worker, I should have at the very least understood you just needed my support.” There were several other tweets, too, in which he showed his apology. To accept Crews back into their lives, Union and Wade called him and his family for lunch.
The former NFL star spoke about it in his recent interview with Shannon Sharpe. Crews revealed he had a face-to-face conversation with Union, apologized to her, and the Hollywood star hugged him back, thus accepting his apology. Crews showed his gratitude to Wade and Union for accepting him and his family with open hands. Every story has an end, and this is one such story.
