Dwyane Wade's support for Kaavia's performance—Is he the ultimate dad goals or what?

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have been making the most of their summer, indulging in a luxurious French getaway that’s been as glamorous as it is heartwarming. The power couple, who have been busy all summer, decided to extend their vacation, taking in the sights, sounds, and tastes of France with their daughter, Kaavia, and close friends. With plenty of laughter, love, and a few surprises along the way, this summer escape has been one for the books.

Just a week after being spotted on yet another vacation with Gabrielle, the 3x NBA champion shared a new update featuring Gabrielle, Kaavia, and friends posing for a fun moment. Union captioned the series of photos with a playful, “Fun fact: the higher the glass, the higher the laughs,” perfectly capturing the joyous mood of the gathering.

Adding to the charm of the trip, in one of the videos, Kaavia serenades the group with a cute song, with Dwyane proudly assisting his daughter—making the getaway even more special. Just a few months ago, people spotted the father-daughter duo enjoying a beach day in Miami and playing a tickle game. Their bond is undeniable, though Wade and Union’s journey to this happiness wasn’t always easy.

Their love story began in 2007 at a Super Bowl party, but as Gabrielle once admitted, the Heat legend’s first impression didn’t exactly scream “lasting relationship.” “When I met Dwyane, his resume looked like crap: athlete, going through a divorce, nine years younger than me. None of that screamed, ‘Let’s have a lasting relationship,’” she confessed back in 2014. Yet, against the odds, they fell in love, and today, they’re happier than ever, proving that sometimes, the best things come when you least expect them.

As Wade and Union continue to enjoy their getaway, let’s take a closer look at their busy summer.

Busy summer for Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union

It’s been a whirlwind summer for the Wade family, as Dwyane Wade, after hanging up his boots in 2019, took on a new challenge this season. Nearly 16 years later, Wade returned to the Paris Games—this time as a commentator. How did he fare? Pretty well, actually. Fans were more than pleased with his insights and presence, proving that his transition from player to commentator was a slam dunk.

Of course, Gabrielle Union was right by his side throughout the entire campaign. She was there to cheer on Team USA, and the couple shared a special moment celebrating their win with their daughter Kaavia. For Wade and Union, this summer has been a blend of professional success and personal joy, especially with Kaavia, their first child together, who was born via surrogate on November 7, 2018.

But Kaavia isn’t the only one keeping the Wades busy. Wade is also a proud father to three other children—Zaire, 21, Zaya, 16, and Xavier, 10—from his previous marriage to Siovaughn Funches. On top of that, he’s also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, 21. It’s clear that family is at the center of Wade’s life, whether he’s on the court, in the commentary box, or just enjoying some well-deserved downtime with his loved ones.
