Dwyane Wade received one of the greatest honors! When he became the first player in the Miami Heat’s franchise history, to receive a statue in his honor. On the court, two of his ‘Banana Boat Crew’ members are still balling out at the age of 39. LeBron James made history earlier this year when he and Bronny became the first father-son duo to step foot on the court. And now Chris Paul too has etched his name in the record books.
“Can’t. Stop. Now. Point God!” The Miami Heat legend applauded CP3 for surpassing Jason Kidd. The Spurs star also stated in his Instagram story, “Beyond grateful! Hitting this milestone is truly a blessing.” During the Spurs game against the Pelicans, Chris Paul made a simple pass to Victor Wembanyama in the first half. Wemby capitalized on it by sinking in a 3-pointer. Thus CP3 picked up the 12,092nd assist of his 20-year career.
Even though the NBA Championship eludes him, the impact of The Point God is undeniable. Paul’s led the league in assists five times and averaged double-digit assists in seven seasons. Currently trails John Stockton’s 15,806 record to become the all-time leader. It’s not the only record where the 39-year-old is behind the Jazz legend.

As per ESPN, Stockton leads the record with 3,265 and Jason Kidd is second with 2,684. Meanwhile, the only active player in the top 3, Chris Paul is at 2,648 currently in the all-time steals record. That makes him top 3 in both steals and assists records. Just last month, the Wake Forest alum breached the 12,000 assists mark. And, no doubt, Dwyane Wade celebrated that too. “My brother BIG Congrats!!! The Point God!”
Despite playing in the league Dwyane Wade and Paul never shared the court together. But before the season started, CP3 was working alongside Zaire Wade. “One of the greatest PGs to ever play the Game of Basketball is entering his 20th season‼️ What he continues to give the next wave of hoopers is what I’m most impressed with.”

Other legends apart from Dwyane Wade too celebrated CP3’s record-breaking night
There were questions raised when Paul moved to Spurs if he would be able to help the team. Currently, the team’s record is 12-12, a huge increase from last season, when the team was 4-20. This season’s stats are 10.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, all of them higher than his last season’s contribution. So, it seems CP3 is enjoying his time in San Antonio, and even other former rivals and friends seem to cherish his career.

Matt Barnes hailed his former Clippers teammate’s productivity at this stage of his career by sharing an infographic of CP3’s assists data with each franchise on his Instagram Stories. “Salute to the longevity and greatness @cp3.” Similarly, Andre Iguodala added three stories, and the third story celebrated Paul and his journey in the league.
Manu Ginóbili was apparently in the Frost Bank Center and added the photo of the record on the Jumbotron. “Amazing! 2nd All-Time in assists! Congrats @CP3! That’s a lot of them!” That’s why Paul is celebrated because the target was never easy, yet with his 6 feet figure made his way to the top. Which Dwyane Wade very clearly understands, since he is one of the ‘crew’.
