My favorite day of the year,” said Dwyane Wade about Thanksgiving a year ago. However, it seems like the tide of bad luck hasn’t stopped for him. Just a month ago, the NBA legend anticipated a monumental night as his statue was unveiled in Miami. What was meant to be a proud milestone turned bittersweet, as the event was overshadowed by unforeseen controversies regarding the statue’s face. Fast forward to Wade’s favorite holiday, and it appears the streak of misfortune continues.

On Thanksgiving evening, Wade took to Instagram Stories to share glimpses of his holiday celebrations. True to form, the former Miami Heat star showcased his signature charisma, delighting fans with a spirited dance video. However, the festive mood came with a twist. “Rolled my ankle in the gym yesterday and this was me last night (dancing), Today I’m paying for it,” wrote Wade as the caption of his story.

Instead of resting, he indulged in the holiday festivities, throwing caution to the wind. The result? The dancing, though joyous, has aggravated his injury, leaving him in significant discomfort.

For Wade, Thanksgiving isn’t just another holiday—it’s a cherished tradition. Every year, he immerses himself in the holiday spirit, often hosting elaborate gatherings that bring family and friends together. A few years back, they had an epic holiday night as the whole family indulged in a karaoke night and the same tradition can be seen to be followed this year as the youngest Wade can be seen singing a song while lying on the floor followed by her mother Gabrielle Union.

Moreover, this Thanksgiving party can be speculated to be the one that Wade had been planning with his wife, which had been revealed through an Instagram video a few days back. “There’s a day on the calendar for us to make sure we are being thankful to our loved ones, to life, to all the things and so, my favorite thing about Thanksgiving is to be able to start a tradition bring everybody, my family, friends everybody to LA, to my home and to give a big Thanksgiving dinner and so we are about 60, 70 deep every year,” said Wade in the video.

As Wade nurses his injury post-Thanksgiving, one can’t help but admire his unwavering spirit. Despite the setbacks, his passion for life remains undimmed. However, the 42-year-old didn’t need to worry, as their youngest seemed to have taken the charge.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, the power couple known for their contributions to sports, film, and social activism, celebrated a monumental chapter in their lives when they welcomed their daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, in November 2018 via surrogacy. She is affectionately known as the “Shady Baby,” and has since captured hearts worldwide with her iconic expressions and vibrant personality, becoming a social media sensation in her own right.

Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2024, and Kaavia has stepped into the spotlight again. She did a quick schedule check for the family’s grand holiday celebration. “I am excited to see all my family and my cousins and my friends. And I’m also excited for all the food we’re getting and also to support everyone. And I am going to be saying the prayer.” “It’s going to be a good day. It will. It’s going to be an even better night,” said Kaavia in the latest IG Story.

Last year also, the youngest of the Wade family stole everyone’s attention as she recited a Thanksgiving prayer in a green dress and red lipstick in front of all the guests present. This Thanksgiving marks yet another milestone for the Union-Wade family, highlighting their commitment to nurturing Kaavia’s creativity. However, what do you think about Wade’s Story?
