Dwyane Wade is gearing up for a weekend like no other—blending the celebration of his legacy with a celebration of food, wine, and community. If you’ve followed Wade’s journey beyond basketball, you already know he’s made his mark as an entrepreneur with Wade Cellars, his California-based wine company. And now, he’s taking things to the next level by teaming up with none other than Frito Lay ($13 billion convenient foods business unit of PepsiCo) for the first-ever When We Gather Food & Wine Festival.
Imagine this—an entire festival, right in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood. Packed with delicious bites and paired perfectly with wines from Wade Cellars’ portfolio. And at the heart of it will be Frito Lay, bringing their iconic snacks to the table. Now, this collaboration couldn’t have come at a better time. The festival is set for Saturday (October 26), just a day before The Flash’s highly hyped up statue unveiling.
Dwyane Wade has also been promoting the festival himself through a video on his social media handles. “I’m coming back to Miami for my first-ever When We Gather Food & Wine Festival. We’ve partnered with Frito Lay… there’s going to be some fun integrations of my favorite chips with food.” But it’s not just about the snacks—this festival will bring together some of the most celebrated BIPOC chefs in the country.

Imagine walking through Miami and seeing the Miami Heat icon. Not just in highlights or memories, but forever frozen in bronze. If you’re a fan, you’ve probably got a moment in mind that you’d love to see captured in his statue. For many—including Gilbert Arenas—it’s hard to top that epic “This is my house” moment.
Think back to 2009. The Heat had themselves locked in a tight game against Wade’s hometown, Chicago Bulls. Just seconds left. The Flash stole the ball, raced down the court, and with the clock winding down, drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
What happened next was legendary. Wade jumped onto the scorer’s table, yelled “This is my house,” and the Miami crowd erupted. Now, here’s the fun part. The 3x NBA champ has hinted that his statue might feature a pose from one of his games.
