After 16 grueling seasons in the NBA, which were marred by injuries, the past few months have been the same for Dwyane Wade. Although not at the same level, the Heat legend somehow managed to take hits on his body during his post-retirement life. But now it seems, The Flash is back to his fitness regime as he wants to avoid certain past mistakes.
On his Instagram, Dwayne Wade uploaded a few stories about playing golf and then updated them about other activities. With his 20 million followers, the former Marquette Alum added a photo of himself doing Yoga and included a Kanye West song in his story. The 2008 song ‘Coldest Winter’ perfectly summed up the weather report, but still, the Miami Heat was sweating buckets. He once shared how he learned to take care of his body.
“When I was playing, I relied on the team to give me all of the information I needed about my body.” Post-hooping career, Dwyane Wade has successfully created a routine where he would get up early in the morning, take a walk, and have some much-needed coffee. Apart from this, he also became a fan of cold dips and even hot yoga to keep himself in shape. However, the routine seemed to have failed him, as he was injured recently.

On Thanksgiving evening, the 3x NBA Champion added a story about his celebration with the family. But that celebration had a minor hiccup. “Rolled my ankle in the gym yesterday and this was me last night (dancing), Today I’m paying for it.” Instead of resting, Wade continued dancing which resulted in aggravating his injury. Few months have passed since, so it seems the Heat legend is pain free.

Winning the championship in his third season in the league was a confidence booster of a lifetime. Even he had the mentality to be the best player in the world. In fact, he had plans to be better than Michael Jordan at one point in time. However, with constant injuries, especially yo his knee, that he had plans to retire despite playing alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
“My knees were in so much pain. In my right knee, I had two sets of different bone bruises. I also had chondromalacia under the kneecap, which irritates the kneecap to the extent where it’s just more pain.” Dwyane Wade told the Los Angeles Times’ Dan Woike. “… It was a time where I didn’t want to do it anymore. I didn’t want to be in pain anymore.”

The 43-year-old overcame those challenges and continued playing in the league until the 2018-2019 season. Even in his final season, he maintained a solid average of 15 points per game, playing 26 minutes on average.
