Dwyane Wade is moving a step closer to imparting what he gained on the court. The 3x NBA champion is all set to launch his latest venture in collaboration with Chris Johnson’s Jus Hoop. Johnson, in an Instagram post, announced the first establishment of the upcoming basketball academies by Wade.

“Dreams do come true!! D Wade @dwyanewade had a vision about building his Wade Basketball Academy around the world and Asia will be our first stop,” read the post by Chris. He further thanked Dwyane for placing faith in him and Jus Hoop to lead the way to building the International Basketball Academy.

Apart from Chris, the post also involved pictures featuring Cory Smith and TJ Wiley, who as a part of the Just Hoop, will back the ‘Wade Basketball Academy’. Jus Hoop is a basketball player development company founded by Chris Johnson, the COO for which is Cory Smith.

Dwayne also shared an Instagram story giving a sneak peek into the ‘Wade Basketball Academy’ in Asia. D-Wade also shared an Instagram story of him shopping in Beijing. This hints that the probable location of the first academy could be Beijing itself. However, this will not be the first business move by the 3x NBA champion either in the sports field or outside of it.

A look back into D-Wade’s past business projects

Dwyane partnered with the Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning in 2012. The partnership led to the development of his own line of sneakers, apparel, and accessories called ‘Way of Wade’. Way of Wade, along with Li Ning, is likely to be involved with Dwyane’s latest basketball academy venture. The Instagram story by Wade and a post by Chris Johnson featured tags for both.

Wade also became a part-owner of the Utah Jazz after he bought an ownership stake in 2021. He was also one of the co-founders of the ‘Celebrity Sports Academy’. Apart from his sports ventures, Wade has also developed a line of other business projects as well. Being a wine enthusiast, he founded his own wine label named Wade Cellars. Some other projects by the NBA star include ‘800° Woodfired Kitchen’ and D. Wade Burgers.
