Is Dwight Howard's flatulence a harmless quirk or a serious breach of dance etiquette?

Dwight Howard is blowing away people in the ballroom in ways his partner and staff could do without. Much like his teammates years earlier, Daniella Karagach exposed Howard’s smelly habits. She aired out her grievance (pun intended) on behalf of the Dancing with the Stars crew who also have to endure it at every rehearsal. For the uninitiated, the center had the reputation of a master at passing air at practices, whether basketball or dance. Silent but deadly, or loud and impactful, Howard can let it rip with ease. It’s the people around him who wished otherwise.

As he prepares for his next performance in the top 6, Dwight Howard wore shorts by ‘Deuce,’ a very popular apparel brand. But Daniella Karagach took it for the other slang meaning when she said, “This couldn’t be a more perfect brand for you.” Howard said something about ‘keeping it real’ but it got too real for everyone in that studio.

Even one of the show’s producers was in a hurry to escape the gassy brew in the air or was leaving the door open for some breathable oxygen. The shocker was the culprit’s apparent innocence (perhaps Dwight’s too used to being surrounded in a cloud of his own fumes) that he can’t fathom everyone’s need for clean air.

Karagach has to spend most of her time in close proximity with her dance partner, doing their lifts and spins. Who knows how much of the toxic air biscuits she has inhaled to demand with dramatic zoom-ins to Dwight’s shameless face, “How much can one human fart?!”

Dwight the Ripper has the gaseous guts to ask, “Was that a lot?” We trust Daniella more when she says, “It was not a little.” When he’s made a near perfect talent out of it, we do think Dwight Howard’s floaters aren’t trivial.

Have an interesting take?

When Dwight Howard moved to Los Angeles the first time in 2012, Orlando Magic had a hard time adjusting to the lack of smelly density in the air. His then-teammate Glen “Big Baby” Davis said they missed Howard’s longwinded releases the most.

The thing we’re going to miss most about Dwight,” Davis recalled at the time. “Is his farting ability.” He could even wax lyrical about Howard’s melodramatic guts, dubbing the Superman as “A great farter,” when he said, “He can fart. He can fart loud — the loudest farts. Silent farts.”

Actually, Howard’s tootsie tyranny was so rampant, Orlando coach, Stan Van Gundy had to implement a ‘No Flatulence Rule’ according to a 2009 report.

Given the response of his teammates when Howard took his ‘air-mazing’ skills to another city, Karagach better take in the top 6 air because no one expected D-Howard to make it this far. But he not only got the first 10 of the season, he’s defied expectations. And he has Daniella to thank for that. So maybe let a breather, Dwight.
