An ace up their sleeve. For most great players, their talent and hard work take them only so far. What truly separates them is something wholly unique. In the case of Dwight Howard, that secret weapon needed to be a powerful force. After all, this man was among the most physically dominant for an entire generation. So, a former teammate with the Washington Wizards, Marcin Gortat, revealed the key to Dwight’s success.
“I was bleeding in every practice, man, Every practice. My lip, my teeth, my hands were scratched. I still have all the scratches.” Because there was one rather vicious thing that Howard would do to ensure he had a leg-up on his opponents. “Everything from Dwight, my chest – everything. I mean, he never cut his nails; Jesus Christ. Like I said, I was bleeding every time.”
But, rather than find the incident fearful, one member of the Gilbert Arenas show couldn’t help but laugh. Given the controversial nature of the former 3x Defensive Player of the Year, Kenyon Martin Sr. couldn’t help but laugh out loud as the news became public.

During his The Big Podcast, Shaq would offer a rather interesting perspective to his constant criticism of modern big men. Whether it be his supposed successor for the Los Angeles Lakers in DH-12 or names like Rudy Gobert, the harsh critique he usually has is his way of motivation.

According to the big man, his mention of Dwight and others was a sign of respect and love from him. Moreover, he considers it his obligation as the “big brother” to give them that push. “I’m telling you how to get there. You know I’m here, dawg.”
