Shaq vs. Dwight: Who truly deserves the 'Superman' title in the NBA?

While the folks gathered at the Big Chicken in Hartland waited four hours for Shaq on Friday, the big man was locked in a beef. That truce from earlier in the year is nonexistent as Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard trade barbs online and on their podcasts. They revived their claim over the Superman moniker and proceeded to argue over blocking. Shaq thought he got the last word when he dubbed Howard a ‘crybaby‘ but DH12 clapped back again. This time with a threat to razzle-dazzle.

Shaq wrote, “I didn’t block you I just don’t care for crybabies, enjoy yourself in Taiwan, hope u win,” previously. Howard decided to fact-check him in another scathing response.

Stop the [cap] & im not in Taiwan yet im on dancing with the stars right now hope it’s not a problem if I pull out the cape for my next performance,” Howard wrote on X.

Picture Dwight Howard’s next performance on Dancing with the Stars. He could do the paso doble and instead of a matador’s cape, he got the red Man of Steel cape with the iconic S logo on it. Shaq might struggle to stay silent about it.

Dwight Howard will return to Taiwan later, this time as a player and part owner of the Taiwan Mustangs. DeMarcus Cousins and Quinn Cook will join him as teammates at Mustangs in The Asian Tournament. But even with grueling rehearsals and an upcoming international season, Howard is not letting Shaq get the best of him.

Have an interesting take?

Shaquille O’Neal was the big talking point on Above the Rim this week. Howard backtracked on his opinion about Rudy Gobert to differ from Shaq. But a nerve was touched when he brought back their old feud on their self-proclaimed status of Orlando Magic’s Superman.

After the 2020 champ’s comments on his podcast, O’Neal clapped back, “U can’t call yourself me and have one ring that u was a role player in getting. It’s only one baby. And I said it.”

So Howard had to tell the 4x champion that neither of them owned the Superman copyright. “Who blocks someone over a nickname owned by Warner Brothers. There is no REAL Superman. It sounds petty.” The irony isn’t lost that Shaq is a Warner Bros. Discovery employee.

Howard went a step further saying, “The fact that we can’t end this one sided beef is petty.” But only when Howard accused Shaq of blocking him that O’Neal was triggered and called him a crybaby. Dwight not only corrected him that he’s busy on DWTS, but he also shared receipts. They’re screenshots of O’Neal’s comments, someone sending Shaq’s post on his DMs, and the clip from The OGs where Howard said that O’Neal never reached out to him for a truce.

Does this end things between Shaq and Dwight? Definitely not.
