Dwight Howard smells corruption. The former Orlando Magic player was one of the toughest in the game. After being drafted as the No. 1 pick, D12 quickly gained fame for his phenomenal display on the court. He was a mastermind in both offense and defense, grabbing several accolades for the latter. However, one honor has remained elusive in his career, raising many eyebrows and still baffling people. Looking back, Howard made some new revelations that seemingly involved Shaquille O’Neal.
Just recently, an X user asked Howard what he thought about his snub from the NBA Top 75 team. Not unexpectedly, Howard responded to the question. However, his answer seemingly hinted at something. “Politics! Just look who voted 🤷🏾♂️ #askdwight,” Howard wrote along with an image featuring the list of people who voted for it. The list included names of media, current and former players, coaches, general managers, team executives, and more. Twenty-five names were revealed in the list.
Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr, Ernie Johnson, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Gregg Popovich, Lisa Leslie, Nancy Lieberman, Charles Barkley, Rick Barry, Howard Beck, and many others made up the list. While he didn’t mention anyone in particular in his statement, the post itself raises a lot of questions.

There were NBA players, experts as well as fans who questioned Howard’s snub from the list despite being one of the best. There were other notable names missing from the list, such as Tony Parker, Tracy McGrady, and more. However, Howard’s exclusion was surprising to many. His former coach, Stan Van Gundy, called it “absolutely ridiculous.” Howard too has previously explained his side.
Dwight Howard was upset over NBA top 75 team snub
It’s impossible to think about the Magic without the 8x NBA All-Star. He has one of the most celebrated careers, boasting three Defensive Player of the Year awards, five All-Defensive selections, and more. During his stint in the foreign leagues, he also secured a T1 League All-Defensive First Team selection, T1 League rebounds leader title, T1 League All-Star honors, and even the T1 League All-Star Game MVP, among other accolades.

His game is unforgettable. Dwyane Wade, who had faced Howard during his prime, recalled how exceptionally great he was. He too was baffled when Howard didn’t make it to the list. “When you talk about these last 25 years, how many names can you think of? And Dwight Howard’s name is not in there?…but Dwight Howard, one, for me, was tough,” DWade said on ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast
This snub was difficult on the basketball star. “I was upset because I felt like it was a slap in my face. No matter how people try to say off the things that happened, it still doesn’t take away what I actually done playing basketball,” Howard said, opening about his experience once.

“For me to be left off in that list of guys on the list [that some] have not accomplished not even a third of the stuff I’ve accomplished, it’s a slap in the face. I felt like I was so disrespected by not being on the Top 75,” he concluded.
Now, before the Orlando Magic star could even announce his retirement, he has been nominated for the Hall of Fame. Do you think he will be honored and inducted into the HOF this year?
