Before the year-end, Dwight Howard had to face a lot of attacks from his former partner. The 3x DPOY’s ex-girlfriend Royce Reed, with whom he shares his son Braylon, made several allegations regarding the payment of child support. But even he was shocked when he heard the amount Jimmy Butler was paying for his ordeal. The Miami Heat had already suspended the veteran forward for his on-court behavior when the personal situation came to light. The amount of Butler was more than 4 times what DH12 admitted to paying once.

Jimmy Butler’s baby mama claims that 55,000 in child support isn’t enough. What? 55,000 a month!!” He went through all sorts of emotions on his podcast. Howard also stated, “I never talk about my kids moms or any moms, but I’m just saying like the amount is absurd.” The amount came to light when the latest Warrior star spoke with DailyMail.com last month and shed light on the situation.

The veteran forward said he’s been paying $55K in child support for their children—Rylee, Brayan, and Kian. However, former partner Kaitlin Nowak reportedly demanded an additional $10K each month for a nanny. That’s why Butler moved to court to seek clarity on the entire situation. Dwight Howard is not a fan of the extra demand or even the amount of $55k in the first place. He even raised the point of the court not doing enough to protect NBA players.

“My son’s mom, that was $13,000 a month from the time my son was born. Let’s do the math on that… This is what I did for her when he first was born. You take the money and you go buy a Dan studio that has nothing to do with your child.” Dwight Howard hinted at it quite clearly when he said that he had stopped paying after his son turned 18.

The legal drama surrounding Dwight Howard and Royce Reed

“This is my HOF year. I’m getting married. God is amazing. And I’m so grateful and I wish Royce nothing but the best peace and [blessings].” When asked about comments on Reed’s allegations, the former Lakers star chose to move forward peacefully. But that was not the case back in the day.

Dwight Howard filed a $500 million lawsuit against Reed, accusing her of violating a gag order from their 2009 court settlement. As per the records obtained by TMZ, DH12 claimed Reed had leaked damaging stories about him to the media on at least 11 occasions. The 39-year-old and his team of lawyers believed the breach warranted $500,500,000 in damages.
