Dwight Howard recently had a major legal win to his name and now he’s opening on what might’ve worked in his favor. For those unaware, the former Los Angeles Lakers star was just last year fighting a battle of custody and child support with his ex, Tiffany Render.

And now he has opened up on some details of his experience dealing with it all.

“The lady that was on the show as well… My daughter’s mom… She’s been married for 12 years. She’s had two other kids… She was married for 11-12 years after she had my child. So I was paying child support for her and for that family,” Howard explained.

And the former NBA star didn’t hesitate to use this instance to highlight his character.

“While she was married, I still paid child support. So what does that tell you about me? My heart is good. Nothing in my heart is malicious… How can I be malicious?” he said, making it clear that he believed his actions spoke louder than any accusations. And it doesn’t end there. Tiffany is, according to Howard, still legally married.

For those catching up, this all follows a big legal win for Howard last year. A judge granted him primary custody of his daughter, Layla, while Tiffany was given parenting time based on mutual agreement. While both parents were awarded joint legal custody, Howard was given temporary final decision-making authority. On top of that, his $3,000 monthly child support payments were terminated.

The road to this victory, however, wasn’t easy. Howard had accused Tiffany of relocating to Florida from Georgia with their daughter without informing him. He also claimed she excluded him from decisions about Layla’s education, healthcare, and well-being.

But what raised eyebrows were Layla’s TikTok videos. Dwight Howard said the content featured his daughter flipping off the camera, wearing “age-inappropriate” clothing. And playing vulgar music in the background. He even accused Tiffany of allowing Layla to participate in a reality show without his consent.

Tiffany, however, fired back, denying the claims and insisting both parents had addressed the TikTok situation together. Through it all, Howard’s message seems clear: his intentions were never malicious, and his priority has always been his daughter.

Dwight Howard’s ex, Tiffany, teaming up with another one of his baby mamas?

It seems Howard’s past isn’t ready to stay in the rearview mirror just yet. While the NBA legend and potential Hall of Famer is happily celebrating his engagement with Amy Luciani, two of his exes—yes, two—are making headlines together. And trust me, Dwight might not be thrilled about it.

Enter The Ladies of Orange County (LOOC), a new reality series dropping in 2025. The show promises to spotlight trailblazing women from Orange County, Florida. And guess who’s part of the cast? Royce Reed and Tiffany Render—both mothers to Howard’s children. Early clips from the show have already hit the internet. And let’s just say, they aren’t holding back!

One emotional scene has Reed and Render connecting during a heart-to-heart at a rock-climbing space. Render, fighting back tears, repeatedly says, “I didn’t ask for that.” While no names are mentioned, it’s pretty clear she’s talking about her rocky history with Howard.

Maybe it was this that motivated Dwight Howard, too, to open up about his side of the story.
