“I am my mom’s meanest child,” read a post Jasmine Jordan resonated with recently. “Do I care? Absolutely not!” it said. And what did Jasmine have to say about it? “@iamtheonlyonejuanita will confirm! And if I’m mean, it’s for a REASON!” Well, is the Michael Jordan household’s annual Christmas party reason enough? Because Juanita Vanoy had to face the consequences of her own doing. Considering Vanoy’s “You get it from your mamma” response, was it really a surprise that her youngest child stole the limelight with her Christmas gift stunt?

As the entire family took to joking online, Juanita was the first to call her 31-year-old out. Within no time, Jasmine’s elder brother Marcus Jordan—in typical elder brother fashion—joined the conversation, which made for a fun chain of events. And who else was there for company? His girlfriend, Larsa Pippen. So, as the fun-loving mother-daughter duo popped open Michael Jordan’s Cincoro tequila to kickstart the evening, the story of the night was Jasmine’s bait-and-switch.

Juanita took to her Instagram story to reveal the cheeky—some would say “mean”—gift that her youngest child gave her. Although it had imprinted the trademark label on the box, the gift was decidedly not a Louis Vuitton product. To ensure things didn’t get lost in translation, Jasmine wrote “NOT” with a felt pen before the LV branding. To go with that, the 31-year-old had an explanation: “Just needed the box.” Moreover, a “Sorry” and “Love You” found their place in the corner, along with a guilty-looking emoticon.

The fun for the family was just beginning, though. Drawing inspiration from their basketball roots, Juanita fired the first shot. “When your daughter does a pump fake on your Xmas gift.” When Jasmine turned to her elder brother, expecting him to be on her side, the results weren’t what she would’ve expected.

Marcus reposted his mother’s story, writing, “Lol @mickijae think she got jokes,” followed by an assurance to their conflict-resolver extraordinaire. “Don’t worry ma, @iamthenonlyonejuanita, we got you,” with an added CC to his elder brother, Jeffery Jordan, and his girlfriend Larsa Pippen. Was there ever any doubt that Marcus and Larsa would come to Juanita’s rescue, especially after all the support she’s shown them?

Michael Jordan’s ex-wife has been a boon for Marcus and Larsa

Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan’s relationship has been under intense scrutiny ever since they started dating. Factoring in the fact that Larsa is the ex-wife of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen, the NBA legend has been hesitant about the relationship. At least, as per reports, he is. But one person who’s been on the LarCus ship since Day 1 is Juanita Vanoy.

When the couple made an appearance on Speidi’s 16 Minutes podcast, they opened up about Juanita’s support. Jordan revealed, “My mom and [Larsa] are like besties. She is an Andy Conan fan and so she is always giving her insights into what Andy is saying.” The Real Housewives of Miami star agreed, adding, “Your mom always sends us these cute clap bags or like how to avoid conflicts on the show.” But that’s not all she’s done to show her support.

Instagram, the scene of the Jordan household’s Christmas shenanigans, is Vanoy’s go-to place to shower love on Marcus and Larsa. Whenever one of them posts a picture together, Juanita is one of the first to comment. “My mom, who is new to Instagram, left some hearts on one of our posts. Larsa really, really loved that,” revealed Jordan on their Separation Anxiety podcast.
