This year’s NBA draft may not be as loaded as expected. Andre Iguodala on his show said it would be interesting since there is no outright number 1 draft pick. His co-host Evan Turner replied and even called this year’s Draft “to be dookie”. And for the longest time, the focus of the 2024 draft class has been on Bronny James and his future. But why did Iguodala and Turner point fingers at the draft class? Let’s find out.

Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner broke down the hottest prospects and the conversations about who will be the sleeper. Plus, if the draft is good or deep enough for the teams in their Point Forward podcast. Iguodala even shared how the teams would be drafting for a position during his time, and they don’t see that now. Turner agreed, revealing his conversation with the 5x French league champion about the upcoming draft class.

As per the conversation, David Lighty feels something is missing when it comes to Zaccharie Risacher or Alexandre Sarr. The French duo are expected to be in the top 5 picks for the draft. However, Lighty’s issue is that both of them never really played for the league in France to establish themselves. Evan Turner to hammer home the point said the teams should trade a pick-off. “I don’t want to be so negative. It’s just like, dog die, like bro. There should not be this many number-one toss-ups like there’s an alpha everywhere,Turner said, via the Point Forward podcast.

Before he spoke about his conversation with Lighty, Evan Turner told his 76ers teammate about the draft picks and the reason he called it “dookie.” The 35-year-old said that in this draft, the teams might not find a star but they might find a really great role player. That’s why he also dubbed the draft class “beautiful” and is looking forward to where the draftees get signed.

Apart from the top draftees like Risacher or Sarr, Turner is keen to where Bronny James might end up. According to experts, it is highly unlikely that Bronny James can turn out to be a lottery pick this year. Still, various drafts place him between the range of 54 to 57. A 54th position would mean that he could be part of the reigning NBA champions, the Boston Celtics. However, with the Lakers grabbing the next draft, there is also a possibility of fans witnessing him play alongside his father LeBron James.

Being the Lakers great’s son is no easy feat. The constant comparison, the relentless scrutiny, the tons of expectations, everything can be overwhelming for a 19-year-old. But for Bronny, that was far from it, which even earned him praise from LeBron. Now, with only a few hours remaining, Bronny opened up about his true feelings about his impending judgment day.

Just a few days before the draft Bronny went sneaker shopping with Complex. Host Joe La Puma asked about his excitement going into the Draft, Bronny’s answer was simple but definitive. Bronny said, “Yeah, man, it’s a blessing. My dreams are finally coming true, and it’s a grateful opportunity that I’m ready to take advantage of.”

Bronny shot continuously for a minute and 15 seconds without missing from the three-point line, which was the highlight of the Draft Combine. Although his shot did not have a lot of elevation, it hit nothing but the net, which shows his accuracy. And with the latest update, it seems Bronny is sealed for the number 55 pick of the Lakers. And with the draft, there is a possibility we might get a clear picture of the future of LeBron James alongside his son Bronny.
