Udonis Haslem’s podcast episode with Bam Adebayo has showcased some of the most viral moments of the former’s career. The best one was when the Miami Heat legend explained his famous ejection in the pandemic bubble against former 76ers star Dwight Howard. Haslem had checked into the game way too early in the first quarter and the crowd erupted to watch the 43-year-old after a long time. However, the excitement did not last long after he couldn’t control his emotions.
While boxing out Haslem for a rebound, Howard initiated contact which ultimately pushed the Heat legend to the ground. Although it was nothing severe, Haslem believed it was not the right thing to do and thus decided to get into it with Howard by pointing his fingers toward his eyes. In the podcast, he shared, “The man[Howard] slumped me to the ground bro…I tried to poke this motherf***** eye. I tried to poke him over to his brain…I watch you do that s*** every night to the young boys…Don’t do that s*** to me.”

Haslem had found his rhythm after a long time as he hit a few tough buckets over young Philly stars. Sadly, that did not last long after he got ejected just three minutes into the game.

If you had seen the altercation, you would notice that Haslem at first tried to slide it off. He revealed in the podcast too, that he did not want to make a big fuss out of small fall. Haslem said, “Let me explain it. I thought about it. Letting this s*** slide.
He added, “But in the back of my mind, you know what I always tell my guys, if you let somebody get away with it, they’re going to do it again. So I said I can’t let him get away with it, cause my guys watching… So I had to stick to my words”.

On the funny side, that was probably the quickest ejections of all time. Adebayo also believes Haslem has set the record for getting tossed early. What are your thoughts on the above story? Share your take in the comments below.
