Michael Jordan memorabilia fetches even $10 million at auction. His jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals became the most expensive piece of game-worn sports memorabilia ever sold ($10.1 million). We have all seen his signature cards, his game-worn sneakers, and other MJ-related items having a special place in collectors’ hearts. But this one is very different! This has nothing to do with any on-court or off-court endeavors of the Bulls legend. After an astonishing price for a ‘Cheetozard’, we have a Cheeto resembling His Airness.

At least that’s what’s being claimed in the current auction by Goldin.”Fresh off the heels of our scorching-hot sale of a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto in the shape of beloved Pokemon Charizard that sold for $87,840, we offer this Flamin’ Hot Cheeto in the shape of the iconic Michael Jordan “Jumpman” logo.” The premier collectibles marketplace previously sold a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto shaped like the Pokémon character Charizard after it went viral online.

Now, the same New Jersey-based auction house wants to replicate the success with MJ.

The current item for sale claims to bear an uncanny resemblance to the famous “Jumpman” image of Michael Jordan. Which Nike has been using as a logo for its Air Jordan athletic wear. With 14 days remaining, the item has already received 21 bids. At first, after two bids, the price was $275 and now it stands 10x more than that.

Yes, the price currently stands at $2600, and with the hype from the internet, it will surely increase. This is why the netizens are completely bewildered not only at the price but at the product itself.

Will Michael Jordan break the Cheetozard record?

Let’s make it clear: this product has no direct relation to His Airness. MJ did not touch the product or open a pack of Cheetos to find this apparent logo of himself. Yet, it is gaining momentum on the website as per the number of bids. A similar story with Pokemon Charizard and the resemblance of Cheeto earned $87k. That’s why a tweet stated: “this is the stupidest thing ive ever seen.”

The sentiment was similar throughout the X post of The Collectible Guru. One fan urged Michael Jordan enthusiasts not to make the same mistake as Pokemon fanatics. “I hope MJ fans aren’t as bad as Pokemon fans. Lol.” Usually, any collectibles are authenticated to provide a reliability report to the buyers. But in this case, it happens to be just a similar-looking image to that of Air Jordan. But are they even similar-looking? A fan doesn’t think so. “lol that doesn’t even look like Jordan lmao.

Imagine the reaction if Michael Jordan-Cheeto fetches an unheard price. Another netizen mocked the idea of this product by sarcastically suggesting to look for a similar resemblance to Jerry West-Cheeto. “Screw this about to look for the jerry west logo.” It’s hard to tell right now if the people involved in bidding are seriously looking to add to their memorabilia collection or jumping on the hype train after the Cheetozard sale.

Another reason why the fans seem to be upset by the current item is because it fetches more than hard earned sporting moments. One pointed out the Shohei Ohtani moment from the 2023 MLB regular season.”How is this Cheeto almost at the same price as this #ShoheiOhtani RBI single, the 150th hit of his 2nd #MVP season and last RBI as an #Angels player? 😳.” The Ohtani item is $375 after 15 bids and closes in 24 hours. So, it’s unlikely it will take over MJ-Cheeto.
