Despite their divorce, Iverson and Tawanna Turner have now been together for over three decades. And they have 5 children out of their relationship — Tiaura Iverson, Allen Iverson II, Dream Alijha Iverson, Isaiah Rahsaan Iverson, and Messiah Lauren Iverson. Notably, Tiaura is Allen Iverson’s first born with Turner. She was born in December 1995 and is very close to her father.

On her 28th birthday, Al shared a heartfelt message for Tiaura through an Instagram post. “Extremely proud of you and your maturation over the years. None of us are perfect. Just keep working on being the best version of you. Happy 29th birthday forever daddy’s little girl!” read the caption to the post. After Tiaura, the former 76ers star had Allen Iverson II, Isaiah Rahsaan, Messiah Lauren, and Dream Alijha in the same order. However, there is not much information about AI’s other children except for Tiaura.

Coming to Allen Iverson’s relationship with Tawanna Iverson, the two met back in their teenage high school days. Back then, Iverson used to be a football player for his high school team. And as per some media reports, Tawanna used to be the classic ‘nice girl’ who rather spent her time in student government leadership roles. However, despite their distinct personalities, the two developed a bond of love and welcomed their first child during their late teens itself.

They dated each other for almost a decade and welcomed another child during this phase. It is said that from Iverson receiving a sentence when he was 17-years-old to him getting drafted by the 76ers, Turner stuck with Iverson through thick and thin. After almost 10 years of dating and two children together, the duo eventually tied the knot at a mansion in Voorhees, New Jersey in 2001.

What led to Iverson’s divorce with Turner?

As per the reports, things started taking a different turn for the couple by the first year of marriage itself. There is an infamous incident of the time when Allen Iverson faced the allegations of throwing his wife out of his house upon an argument. According to reports, he later found his wife at a relative’s house, where he forcibly entered while in possession of a gun. But the gun allegations were never proved, and Iverson dismissed other allegations as well. He stated back then that a simple lovers’ spat was made into more than what it was.

But things never turned returned to normalcy for the duo, especially amid the allegations of infidelity against Allen Iverson. Subsequently, Turner filed for the divorce for the first time in 2009 but withdrew the filing after Iverson’s constant requests. But she again filed for divorce after a few months and thus started the proceedings. Notably, there is an instance from one hearing during 2012 which gained immense popularity in media headlines.

During the proceeding back then, Allen Iverson was already going through a phase of financial hardships and debt. Amid all of this, he shouted at Turner during the hearing, “I don’t even have money for a cheeseburger!” Even more interesting was Turner’s response to this as she took out $61 from her wallet and handed it to Al. The marriage eventually ended with a divorce in 2013, where the former 76ers star had to give $3 million in settlement. However, the couple reconciled after months of divorce itself. Allen Iverson even mentioned her in his 2016 Hall of Fame Speech.

“This is one of those last-but-not-least things. My number one person in the world, Tawanna Iverson… Twenty-four years. Ups. Downs. But real love… Thank you… for loving me the way you do. And caring about what type of person I am and what type of person that I need to be to set an example for our babies,” he said in his HOF speech. Notably, the duo has been co-parenting their children since their divorce and have even been spotted taking vacations. However, it is not known if the duo ever re-married each other.
