DJ Khaled is once again ready to give back to Miami-Dade County. So, obviously, the city’s basketball franchise’s top scorer was also present. Not just Dwyane Wade, but even another Heat legend, Alonzo Mourning, and the current Miami superstar, Jimmy Buttler, were in attendance. More celebrity names framed the list further at the ‘We The Best Foundation’s second annual Jordan Golf Classic,’ but one name, not in the crowd, held a little more value to DJ Khaled and probably those on the receiving end.

The foundation runs to support non-profit organizations serving underserved communities in Miami-Dade County. DJ Khaled aims to help the next generation and the event was a means to encourage picking up golf clubs. And the 49-year-old is grateful for the contribution Michael Jordan has made to the cause and more.

I want to big up Michael Jordan, too. Michael Jordan is my partner in this golf classic and everything he’s done for this,” the Grammy Award winner started while speaking to Alexis Frazier of Local 10 news. “But not just this. Everything he does like, he’s like an idol to me, somebody that gives back like this.

This was the second event after a successful run last season, thanks to the support of the many celebrity names — Serena Williams, Shannon Sharpe, Victor Cruz, Jalen Rose, Terrell Owens, Shaunie Henderson, and more. DJ Khaled was appreciative of them all.

Last year, the WE THE BEST FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC brought out so many friends and family to make a difference, play some great golf, and have an incredible day for a great cause. This year, we’re going even bigger, and we thank everyone for their continued support. TEE UP AND BLESS UP!” he added.

This year, alongside the city’s own Dwyane Wade, Matt Barnes, Jeff Hamilton, Ice Spice, Winnie Harlow, and Olympian Michael Phelps made the guest list. As of now, the Bulls legend is yet to grace the event. But Michael Jordan’s youngest son, Marcus Jordan, was present at the time, just like last year. But that was not the only Jordan brand that was part of the event.

Michael Jordan made his 60th birthday special

The philanthropic ways of MJ are well known. Even his mother, Deloris Jordan, has been on a journey to spread awareness about sickle-cell anemia in her late husband’s memory. As for Michael Jordan, he has been working alongside the ‘Make-A-Wish Foundation’ since 1989. And last year, during his 60th birthday, the Bulls legend celebrated with a record-setting donation.

This donation was the largest one from an individual, as per the organization’s 43-year history. Even though the figure was $10 million, the Bulls legend wanted to count the smiles on children’s faces. “For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids.”

That’s why even DJ Khaled seemed eager to once again partner up with Michael Jordan. Working alongside his idol for a noble cause seems like a dream come true. Just like the work that We The Best Foundation would love to fulfill.
