Dwyane Wade is one of the most prominent faces of the NBA when it comes to the 2010s. Making his name during his time with the Miami Heat, the Chicago native has become a legend in the city of vice. Known for his explosiveness and fast-paced approach to basketball, Wade has seamlessly transitioned his successes from the court to his businesses off it. With an estimated net worth of $170 million, the 3x champion has become quite the mogul.

Owning a variety of businesses including a minority stake in NBA outfit Utah Jazz, Wade continues to expand his empire even today. Although placed under scrutiny for his wife’s recent 50-50 comments, the 2006 finals MVP has continued to soar to new heights following his retirement in 2018. Always an advocate for Black lives, Wade was recently on cloud 9 as he took pride in his 9-year-old venture.

Throughout his multiple endorsements and business ventures Dwyane Wade’s most prized asset has to be his wine company. Launching in 2014, ‘Wade Cellars’ was a joint initiative between D Wade and Californian winemaker Jayson Pahlmeyer.

Based in Napa Valley, the wine label has made quite the name for itself as its stock continues to rise. Speaking about his choice to enter the industry with Financial Times, the NBA icon revealed his reasons stating, “When I got into the wine space, I didn?t just do it to drink wine and make great wine.”

Revealing a sense of community and representation as motivators, he continued, “I got into it to make sure that wine could be accessible to the community that I come from. I got into it to be a voice for the black winemakers and vineyard owners.” With less than 1% of the Wine industry being black-owned, it makes sense why ‘The Flash’ would want to make an investment in this field.
