The Los Angeles Lakers vs the New York Knicks is a long-awaited showdown that the fans have been eager for. Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle came out on top with their win over the LA unit last time on December 19. The Lakers now have another chance at Madison Square Garden. But this time there is someone special in the crowd and it is none other than 5x NBA champion Magic Johnson.

Johnson had a heavy praise for the Knicks after they demolished the Miami Heat during the Rivals week. His love for Jalen Brunson has been increasing over the last few months and now he has made a live appearance at the Mecca of basketball to enjoy two of his favorite teams at the moment. However, Johnson will not be able to witness Julius Randle play live as he is sidelined with a shoulder dislocation.

Randle exited the game against the Heat midway and the 3-time MVP tweeted, “I’m praying that Knicks forward Julius Randle did not suffer a serious injury. Randle’s been playing like an all-star all season long!”.

Well, looks like prayers did not work sadly. Reports revealed that Randle will be evaluated only after 2-3 weeks and his return might take more than a month.

It is likely that Julius Randle will miss the All-Star weekend as well, but what’s more concerning is that this could affect the Knicks’ hot run of form.

Magic Johnson endorsed Jalen Brunson right before his historic moment

The Knicks have a lot on their plate right now, but one thing that they will be proud of is two of their best players making it to the All-Star weekend. Jalen Brunson got his first All-Star selection this season and Johnson predicted it weeks ago.

Magic Johnson shared in a tweet three weeks back, “The two point guards we should be talking about for the All-Star Game are De’Aaron Fox… and Jalen Brunson…As of today, both players have their teams in the playoffs.”

Only Brunson made it to the All-Star Team and that too as a reserve and not as a starter, which is still a controversial topic on social media. De’Aaron Fox did not even make it to the All-Star Team. Johnson has been quite good with his predictions. Hopefully, Brunson can continue this impeccable run to get endorsed by the Lakers champion more!

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with Magic Johnson?
