The game of golf is quite mentally stimulating. People have been drawn to this sport for years because of its difficulties and level of competition. The NBA players are also under the influence of the game. However, a few players have demonstrated a great game. Legendary Los Angeles Lakers player Byron Scott, who is renowned for his flair for golf, has named handpicked NBA players who golf. The 1998 Greek Basket League champion spent 10 years with the Lakers from 1983 to 1993. During the Showtime era in the 80’s, he led the team to 3 championships.

However, his skills and passion transcend the basketball court thanks to his former teammate. As he sat for an engaging conversation with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, the head coach revealed his top pick of NBA players who are great golfers.

Aside from basketball, Scott is a true fanatic of golf. Over his career, he had the opportunity to play with golfers of all skills and gallantly take on several challenges. When the host asked him to name his top five NBA players who golf, he presented an amusing list. Headlining the roster were three Lakers legends.

While he named the former general manager of the Lakers for the first position, Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry was named second. Despite Curry’s +1.3 handicap and his American Century Championship, 85-year-old West seems to have grabbed the first spot, and understandably so. Even at the age of 80, he was exceptional. He once played to a 3.0 index and shot 65 at Bel Air CC. He also shot 28 on the back nine with 10 birdies.

Even if Curry never had the chance to golf with the 14-time NBA All-star, his stunning golf skills attracted West’s attention. He was quite impressed with Curry’s game. He even stated how Curry has a “gorgeous swing.”

Not a surprise that the two were placed at the top of the roster.

Byron Scott named James Worthy as his fifth pick

Scott named Andre Iguodala and himself for the 3rd and 4th position respectively. For the fifth position, he chose his best mate who introduced him to the game. James Worthy was the person who brought the Showtime-era champion into golf.
