Kevin Durant recently opened a discussion on something his fans have wondered about for a long time. Why is KD not part of the usual GOAT conversations? Now, there are several candidates in that conversation who get the most amount of attention. But somehow, Durant’s name is often missing in those debates.

The 35-year-old expressed his confusion by saying, “Because I went to the Warriors. Why shouldn’t I be in that? That’s the question you should ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?” Responding to an Instagram post about the same debate, Jamal Crawford hesitatingly backed KD’s claim.

Crawford wrote, “He’s easily one of the best players to ever play. 💯” Although this seems to be like him standing up for Durant, he was quick to mention that KD is “one of the best players“, and as far as we know about the NBA GOAT conversations, one of the best players doesn’t necessarily mean a GOAT contender.

KD’s question holds a lot of weight when you look at everything he has achieved in basketball. The Phoenix Suns star has won every individual award, NBA titles, and Olympic gold medals, and yet somehow his name is overlooked whenever the GOAT debate is doing the rounds. In addition to the accolades, he is also arguably the purest scorer the game has ever seen. Fed up with the disrespect, he decided to finally speak up on the issue which has caused quite a stir in the hoop community.

Durant believes that the narrative shifted on him when he made the move from OKC. However, he is not the first athlete who decided to switch to a better side. He isn’t the first athlete who kept the NBA title aspirations on top of everything else. Despite winning the major titles after his move, he is still rarely on anyone’s GOAT list. His frustration with the consistent snub makes a lot of sense.

One good thing that has come out of his speaking on this subject is that a large demographic of basketball fans is acknowledging that he is right and deserves a spot in that conversation. However, when you bring up the big guns, those who always hold the highest positions in these conversations, KD falls short.
