The analysts are back as the NBA season has returned in full glory. There were 12 matches yesterday to satisfy the fans who did not get to experience the NBA in the past few months. Many players made their debuts on their new teams. But the one that stood out the most was Kristaps Porzingis for the Boston Celtics.

This has made the NBA analysts dissect what they saw on the floor. But no one was more impressed by what he saw than the former champion with the Boston Celtics, Paul Pierce.

Even though the Knicks drafted him, he never reached his true potential with the team. And with the Knicks fans being Knicks fans, they booed him every time he stepped on the court.

But the Latvian did not let this affect him. Porzingis broke the record set by Dominique Wilkins for the most points scored by a Celtics player in their debut game. He had an impressive showcase in his debut game. He scored 30 points and even shot 5/9 from three.

Porzingis was constantly attacking the whole game, leading to him even getting 10 free throw attempts. Pierce agrees that Porzingis is definitely capable of scoring 30 almost any night and he will be a key piece on the team.

Paul Pierce also had concerns about the Celtics team. Even though the team won against the Knicks, it was a very close match. The Knicks are not known to be a great three-point shooting team. But they still made 18 threes. And they were not able to match the Knicks with their own three-point shooting.

The gravity of losing Grant Williams and Robert Williams this offseason is still being analyzed by the team. Grant Willaims was a 40% three-point shooter, and the team missed him in their opening match. Robert Williams is an inside presence that they are lacking currently. With Al Horford playing limited minutes, the Knicks were able to get 17 offensive rebounds.

But it’s too early to judge the team. The Celtics have one of the best starting lineups in the league. Jaylen Brown did not live up to his $300 million price tag today. Jrue Holiday is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. With a few more games under their belt and once the roles have been figured out by the players, this team will certainly be one of the top two teams in the East.
