In his glory days, Shaquille O’Neal loved to party. Even today, at 52 years old, the NBA Hall of Famer occasionally stays out late. This may seem like a dream for any kid, but when children are concerned, Shaq is a different person. From ensuring they get their degrees and proper jobs to ensuring they don’t touch his wealth until they’ve earned it, the stories of Shaq’s parenting are far and wide. So, what does he think about his young ones enjoying the party lifestyle?
On the most recent episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, he sat down with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. The host of the All The Smoke podcast has some interesting things to say about parenting. What was more interesting was Shaq’s take on it.
He said, “You know when my kids started getting to that age, 17, 18, I didn’t want them to party anywhere else. So we had rules. You can party at the house, but I’ll be back at 12 o’clock, and everybody better be gone.” This is a great way of keeping kids in line. Moreover, breaking the rules means they have to deal with Shaq.

Shaq did add that he leaves Uncle Jerome and his chef at home when his kids want to party. This ensures there is some adult supervision not to let things get out of hand. He also admitted that parties do tend to do that when they are at his place. Despite all the rules, Shaq loves to party so much that he even opened his annual Super Bowl Party to the public this year.
