The trade of the Wizards happened amidst a lot of noise. Problems arose for the 24-year-old guard due to conflicts with Draymond Green, the pressure of carrying the Warriors post-Curry, and his personal aspirations. They were all grown men on the team. There is only so much coaches and fellow members can do to help resolve these issues.

Finally, the one-on-one talks and group discussions all ended in a trade. The Wizards traded All-Star Chris Paul for the Warriors’ rising star. It was a good deal. With a young core like Washington’s, their latest member is given the greatest chance of a lifetime – if he plays his cards right.

It was the day of celebration for Washington. Not only were the naysayers given a suitable answer, but many who expressed their doubts got the proof. Up until now in the preseason, Poole has averaged 23.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 23 minutes of playing time.

What we have to remember is during his time with the Warriors, before the Green fiasco, Poole was considered to be the one to receive the mantle from Curry. Many even went on to dub him with the title of third Splash Brother to Curry-Thompson duo. That alone is enough to understand his potential.
