Jordan ruled the 90s with his championship wins and groundbreaking success. The Chicago Bulls legend was already a superstar entering that decade. However, after winning six championships, he reached the absolute pinnacle of an individual’s achievement. Of course, he had the backing and support of his staff and teammates, but none created excitement among fans like he did. His relevance today is just a testament to the impact he has had on the world, especially in basketball. Even a superstar like Jordan can’t escape the therapeutic qualities of music. In fact, one of his favorite musicians at the time was Kenny Lattimore.
The 53-year-old singer was recently on the Jemele Hill podcast recently. There he talked about meeting MJ for the first time and also talked about the specific demand the GOAT had. Lattimore said after a failed brand collaboration, he was asked if he wanted to go to an event hosted by the man himself. It was a no-brainer for Lattimore. Already blown away by the way in which Jordan met him for the first time, Lattimore soon found out about the real fan behind the megastar. He said “I knew he was a superfan,” when Jordan pulled him aside with a special demand. He told Lattimore, “I want you to sing for just me and Ahmad[Rashad] first.”
The choice of song by Jordan further cemented his status as a “superfan” because he asked him to perform Forever, which is an album cut.
