In an interview for ?Juneau Afternoon?, retired NBA veteran Carlos Boozer Jr. talks about his new book ?Every Shot Counts: A Memoir of Resilience?.?
While talking about his new book, he recalls his friend and music legend, Prince?s undying loyalty towards Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Carlos Boozer Jr. mentions, “We talked a lot about basketball. Prince loved basketball.”
He further explains, “Prince grew up in Minnesota. He was a huge Minnesota Timberwolves fan. Loves Kevin Garnett and I?m like yeah ?Yeah I love him too?when I ain?t playing against him. Because Kevin Garnett was a problem.”

Kevin Garnett started his NBA journey with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995. He quickly became a fan favorite with his dominant playing style and ruthless trash-talking, hence Boozer referring to him as “a problem.” During his 11-year tenure with the $1.67 billion NBA team, he became a certified Timberwolves legend. He ranked first all-time in games played, minutes, points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.

He also won his only MVP award during his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Though he could never win an NBA championship for the organization, he definitely influenced basketball culture through his passion for the game. Kevin Garnett won one NBA championship during his time with the Boston Celtics alongside NBA superstars like Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.
Kevin Garnett was part of an exclusive group of NBA players (like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James), who entered the league directly from high school. Minnesota welcomed the 7-foot-tall center 18-year-old with open arms. The 18-year-old Kevin Garnett started scoring in high numbers and impacting the league’s rankings almost immediately after joining the NBA, thanks to Minnesota’s confidence in the tenacious and young Kevin Garnett.
