The couple recently made a joint-appearance at the ‘Fast Company Innovation’ festival in NYC to promote their new brand. The Miami Heat legend flaunted their appearance to the festival on his Instagram story. He captioned the story, “Take your husband to work day @theproudlyco”.

The couple now boasts a rapidly increasing business venture with “PROUDLY”, launched in April 2022. A few months ago, the “PROUDLY” signed a deal with a huge U.S retail company “TARGET”.

However, the former NBA star did have his doubts about working with his wife in a professional capacity initially. He opens about the issue at the ‘Fast Company Innovation’ festival in NYC.

After they made their grand entrance at the ‘Innovation’ festival, the couple was interviewed regarding their experience of working on “PROUDLY” together. The host asked, “What made you want to be partner for this particular endeavour?” To which Dwyane Wade immediately replied, “I didn’t want to be.”.

As the crowd erupted in laughter, the Miami Heat legend further explained, “It’s about the need. I did not want to work with my wife in this capacity. Her email…listen, she be on me. “Did you look at this email?”, “Did you return this email?”…we got different processes but…”.

The host then added to the hilarious rant as he asks his next question, “What’s the division of labour between you two? What strengths do you lean into as entrepreneurs?”.

As Dwyane Wade continued to laugh, Gabrielle Union-Wade replies, “Inquiring minds would like to know.”. She clarifies to the audience, “Listen, I believe in a schedule. I believe in a checklist. I believe in efficiency. I don’t believe in going around the block to go next door. I’m going just go next door.”

Clearly, the couple are very comfortable with “pulling each other’s legs” in public. More importantly, despite Dwyane Wade’s hesitation to work with his wife, he continues to flaunt and support his wife in her business endeavours, which are proving to be extremely profitable for him too.
