Back in 1998, while Shaq was leaving the arena after a game, he met a middle-class mother. The woman was cussing Shaq out and told him that his shoes were too expensive for kids to afford.

O’Neal told her that he had a few thousand dollars on him at the moment, so he would give her that so she could buy for her kids. This made her reject the money as she didn’t understand why the legend wouldn’t make his existing shoes more affordable.

After thinking about it for a while, Shaq decided to cut ties with Reebok and start his own shoe line with Walmart, which would be affordable for everyone. 25 years later, O’Neal is back at Reebok and he has brought his consumer conscious mindset with him!
