A trade request makes or breaks an NBA-contention team. Over the years, several transfers have culminated in a team’s title-winning run, while others have been left bereft without any accolades.

Indeed, despite the time elapsed, a millionaire former Boston Celtics legend has disclosed his harsh disappointments of trades relating to the departure of his former teammates.?The 45-year-old recently appeared on the show, It Is What It Is, for an exclusive Q&A, where he made some powerful claims.

Boston Celtics legend makes his opinions known

The man is none other than Celtics legend Paul Pierce, who sat down with the members of the famous talkshow. ‘The Truth’ lived up to its name as he talked about his magical 2008-2009 title-winning season,

Pierce with his fierce persona claimed, ?In 2008, I had to play against LeBron and Kobe. Was I better than them in those particular series?? to which one of the panelists replied, ?You surely were.?

Discussing the 2010 finals defeat, Pierce mentioned, ?As great as Kobe was, he shot like 6 for 28 in game 7.? He later emphasized the fact that he stood his ground against the best in business. Additionally, the team breakup after the final defeat sparked the conversation.

One of the panelists revealed Dwayne Wade to be his favorite player, to which Paul responded, ?What did Wade do without him?? When the panelist reversed the question considering his teammates, the former Finals MVP revealed, ?Same thing he did.??

 

The former NBA champion with the Celtics also revealed how disheartened he felt after the sudden departure of Ray Allen. He later made claims how graciously he would?ve accepted a salary deficit if it meant Allen could stay on with him.

Ray Allen to Miami Heat left Pierce heartbroken

The Celtics got swept by the Miami Heat in the NBA Eastern Conference Semi-Finals in 2011. The Heats handed Boston a dominant 4-1 defeat in the series.

In a shocking turn of events, Ray Allen opted out of the Boston outfit. The shooting guard traded himself to the Miami Heat on free agency in the trade market following next season. Pierce felt a little betrayed as he was annoyed at the decision.
