Well, famous American author Sam Smith decided to release an entire book that revealed a few former NBA superstars’ perspectives on the Chicago Bulls legend. Amid huge praise from several veterans, one NBA legend’s perception of Michael Jordan stood out. Although he did credit MJ’s massive influence on the world, the 70-year also took a jab at the 6x NBA champion’s brilliance.?

Apart from the wild discredits, the 1993 Hall of Famer also revealed how people’s life changed, just to watch Jordan play. Citing his fatherhood with four children, the 2x All-Star explained it beautifully!

The 70-year-old kept it straightforward and did not beat around the bush. In the book,?‘There is no Next’,?Walton mentioned,?“Michael changed the world…not so much in how he played. He was not the best at anything, he was not the biggest, he was not the strongest, he was not the highest jumper…”

Although Walton discredited Jordan in every way possible, he added,?”he was incredibly, incredibly smart”. Walton highly believes Jordan understood the business part of basketball as he also revealed,?“he lived and he acted and drove the business of sport”.?

Walton understood Jordan’s impact during his fatherhood when he raised four adolescent teen-aged boys.?

Understanding Michael Jordan’s impact as a father

Walton retired three years after Jordan got drafted. By the time MJ started making a mark in the league, the Hall of Famer had 4 teenage boys. Walton shared,?“I have vivid memories and experiences in my life of raising four young boys…and have to get them go to school.”

“Whole morning as they’re getting ready, I’m telling them, ‘Five-thirty tonight, no matter what, be home…because Michael Jordan is going to be on the TV and you don’t want to miss this.”

He also added,?“Plan your lives and play your schedule around his games.” This is simply how impactful Jordan was, according to Walton.
