“I remember the first time that I went to a game and set up close and noticed that there was a difference.” 2 Chainz on Shaquille O’Neal podcast revealed that sitting courtside was a very different experience. He dreamt of being a hooper himself once but did not materialize it. Thanks to Allen Iverson and LeBron James, he quickly figured out that he wasn’t cut out for basketball.
“Athleticism, the height, the agility of somebody, how high they jump, how hard they hit the ground is also reason why I’m saying, ‘I don’t know if I would have been able to get there’… Chuck was playing Allen Iverson and he was moving so fast on the court, like up and down. I was even trying to count his steps like how. I think he took like five.” Watching AI go to work against Charles Barkley had the Grammy Award-winning artist appreciate the craft even more. Plus, it also brought a unique question into the picture.
“And then… when I would go to a game, I would see LeBron for the first time. I’d be like, I literally be like, ‘I think his jumping leg bigger than the other leg.'” 2 Chainz admits. It was the AI and Chuck’s game that first struck the rapper. But Bron only kept adding to the amazement, giving 2 Chainz the most memorable experience courtside in 2016.

The rapper reminded everyone about the 2016 finals, where the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to come back and beat the Golden State Warriors. His favorite moment was from game 5, where both LeBron and Kyrie Irving scored 41 points each, to create history — they became the first pair of teammates to finish with at least 40 points apiece in a Finals game. “That game right there was one of the most amazing games I ever been to in my life. I couldn’t believe that,” 2 Chainz shared via Big Podcast.

LeBron and Allen Iverson battled 18 times during their time. Though during the end of the AI era, LeBron would dominate in points. The overall average was 28.6 to 25.8 in the LA Lakers superstar’s favor. In terms of team victories, Iverson had 10 and LeBron 8. But the respect for each other has been the same.
“[Iverson] reminds me of Floyd Mayweather. You could never question [Iverson’s] heart, his will to want to win. A true warrior,” James once said about the 76ers legend.
The 14-year veteran also warned the Akron native about media bias: “Learn from what I did wrong.” On the Stephen A. Smith show, he advised King James to “be fake” with clear reasoning: “They love you right now, but please believe me, the first incident, they are waiting.”

Even Bronny James recently admitted to watching highlights of Allen Iverson. So, the entire James Clan is a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers legend. Naturally, rapper 2 Chainz was also bewildered, watching AI’s agility and speed against Charles Barkley.
