Looks like Shaquille O’Neal has turned into a meme on the internet once again. Shaq is an active celebrity on social media, especially Instagram. Time and again, you can see hilarious videos of the Los Angeles Lakers legend getting trolled on the internet. One that never fails to put a smile on the viewers’ faces is his free throw shooting. Big Diesel is famous for his Hall of Fame resume, and also for his embarrassing shooting history. Now, it looks like he has hit the resume button. 

However this time, it was not basketball. Even with desperate “Steph Curry” calls, Shaq failed to come out of the backlog. How did things go wrong this time? 

Even Stephen Curry cannot help Shaquille O’Neal shoot better

It has been more than 4 decades since the four-time champion started playing basketball. Over the years, O’Neal mastered every move of a dominant center, except shooting. His huge hands make a basketball look like a golf ball. Yet this time, Shaq actually used a golf ball to make a few shots. 

When it comes to shooting, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is the one that people idolize. So does Shaq. Just like how athletes shout “Kobe” when they shoot fadeaways, it has become a trend now to use Curry’s name to make three-pointers or difficult shots. 

That was the instance when 51-year-old Shaq decided to have a “Golf ball free throw contest”. During a golf game with Georgia’s Sheriff, Shaq tried to throw the mini ball as he screamed, “Step Curry, STEPH CURRY”, and failed miserably. 

Of course, for avid Diesel-heads, this name-drop will come as no surprise. After, all, Shaq admitted that Steph Curry is his “favorite player”.

However, even after several attempts, the 2000 NBA MVP couldn’t make one. The sheriff, Reginald Scandrett, gave an embarrassing defeat to Shaq as he made a shot before him. 

Moreover, Scandrett took this chance to show a clip of Shaq missing a free throw to make it even more disrespectful. The LA legend shared the above to his Instagram story. Using the leverage of the win, the Sheriff Scandrett has roped Big Diesel into hosting a day of golf.

Shaq and the Sheriff will conduct a tournament

“I STAND WITH SCAN” is a celebrity golf tournament that is conducted every year.

This year, the Sheriff roped in Shaquille O’Neal who will be hosting it on October 16th. Scandrett added, “It’s that time again…Let’s see who comes out on top this year… Be sure to join us on October 16th for Shaquille’s Annual I STAND WITH SCAN Golf Tournament.”
