Michael Jordan recently sold his majority ownership of the ‘Charlotte Hornets’ at a ?jaw-dropping? valuation of $3 billion dollars. He bought the NBA team in 2010 for $275 million and after selling his majority ownership, the Chicago Bulls legend earned a profit of more than $2.7 billion.

Michael Jordan?s mega-successes in three events in his life have catapulted him to being one of the wealthiest people in the world. His unprecedented impact as a player, an owner, and finally, through the growth of the ?Air Jordan? brand at Nike has made him an extremely wealthy individual.

Jordan’s ‘off-court’ entrepreneurial journey is what created the space in wealth between him and his NBA peers. This is where Jordan invites his close friends like Rickie Fowler and Luke Donald, who are pro-golfing legends. Speaking of golfing legends, Michael Jordan was also close friends with Tiger Woods. But despite their close friendship, the legends? friendship fell apart eventually.

Many consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time. Many consider Tiger Woods as the greatest golfer of all time. Thanks to their talent and admirable work ethics, the two legends could amass a gigantic amount of wealth for themselves during their professional career.

The two have a relationship that dates back decades. Despite being from different fields, the two legends have always praised each other in public. In a famous interview with Jordan from 2004, he even confessed to the fact that he would have pursued golf if he had seen Tiger Woods play from a young age! Tiger Woods once mentioned in an interview that he would be ?the Michael Jordan of golf?. He even mentioned in an interview that Jordan was almost like a big brother to him.

However, in 2006, Tiger Woods experienced the loss of his father deeply affected him. And in 2009, the high-profile scandal of his affair with another woman, while being married to Elin Nordegren came to light. This incident completely shattered his then-spotless public image.

After these two incidents, the golf legend retreated into his privacy and maintained very little contact with all his friends including Michael Jordan. However, the two long-time friends continue to stay in touch despite the changed equation in their friendship over the years.
