The one hot question in the WNBA right now is if Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is being hated on or if it is just how basketball has been played all these years. The treatment that Clark has received in her first few games in the WNBA is concerning for many. The female hoopers believe that the WNBA stars have always been tough on the rookies. However, fans consider this as hate towards the Clark. To make the fans’ perspective stronger, NBA legend Dennis Rodman‘s ex-wife decided to join their side.
On Instagram’s Threads, Michelle Rodman replied to a viral question, “All Basketball fans, this is a safe space. Do you think Caitlin Clark is being hated on or is it just basketball?”. The ex-wife of the Chicago Bulls icon answered the above question, “Hated on for sure !!!“, denying that it’s not a trend in WNBA to be harsh on the rookies.
Not just Michelle Rodman, but a lot of famous NBA icons believe that Clark is being hated. Charles Barkley, Matt Barnes, Austin Rivers, etc. have called out the female hoopers for not appreciating Clark. However, Chicago Sky star Chennedy Carter was the one who added fuel to the fire by pushing Clark during her game against the Indiana Fever. The above play, which was initially called a normal foul, was later changed to a flagrant one, a day after the game ended.

Further intensifying the matters among spectators, Angel Reese pointed out in an interview that the WNBA is getting attention not just because of Clark, but through her too. So, it’s now easier to understand why Michelle Rodman believes the league is hating on Clark. However, amidst the debate train, a WNBA superstar went on to show some support to Clark, despite beating her by 36 points.
New York Liberty superstar motivates Clark and Co. after their bad game
Clark had an off night on her last game against the New York Liberty this Sunday. She was able to score just 3 points and 5 rebounds. Moreover, the Fever lost, 104-68, after the Liberty outscored the Fever in three quarters. Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu dropped an efficient 16-point performance along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
In the postgame interview, Ionescu was asked about Clark’s bad outing. The 26-year-old said, “(Clark) came off a tough back-to-back, so it’s a little bit tough for them. But they’ll figure it out. It’s not that big of a deal to have a game like that.”
Also, Clark joined Ionescu as the only player in WNBA history to record more than 150 points, 50 rebounds, & 50 assists through their first 10 career games. So, it looks like Clark is moving on the right path. Let’s hope the alleged hate and criticism do not stop her from creating history.
