One side of the story doesn’t tell everything. A new chaos surfaced on social media right after soccer player Trinity Rodman’s comment on her father. She was quick to dismiss her famous father Dennis Rodman’s words seeking an apology. Trinity has always been candid when speaking about her relationship with her father. Finally, Rodman’s mother, Michelle Moyer, voiced her opinion on the matter.

Reposting her daughter’s post on her own IG story, she added an animated sticker that read, “Truth.” What did Trinity say? During her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the soccer player opened up about her father’s absence in her and her brother’s lives. “He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” she remarked.

But this must have reached Rodman’s ears, as he was recently seen flaunting cool, matching Grinch-inspired PJs with his ex-girlfriend. The Chicago Bulls legend was quick to respond this time. He shared a lengthy post on his Instagram, explaining his actions and seeking an apology from both of his kids.

“I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time. I’m always here and tell you all the time – rather it’s your voice or voicemail – how proud I am,” Rodman wrote. Their fallout in the relationship was very obvious, as Trinity had previously spoken about the rebounding king.

But perhaps it’s too late to apologize, as the Olympic gold medalist quickly hit back with another remark. She reposted the IG post that read ‘The Worm’s comments and wrote, Nice repost. A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it. I’m done. Thank you.

Is Dennis Rodman's apology too little, too late for his children to forgive and forget?

Well, the sentiments seem to be the same for Trinity’s brother, DJ Rodman. He shares the same love for basketball as his father. On Father’s Day, he snubbed his dad to pay tribute to his mother, who was always there for them. Moyer, who decided to divorce when Trinity was 2 years old, has been a constant support to all three of her children.

What influenced Michelle Moyer to divorce Dennis Rodman?

Michelle was Rodman’s third wife. They met in 1999 and welcomed two children in 2001 and 2002. However, just one year after getting married in 2003, she sought a divorce from Rodman in 2004. Over the years, it was reported that the two tried to reconcile their relationship, but their efforts remained in vain.

Moyer was the first to make the decision to file for divorce from Rodman after an accident changed her mind. Referring to it as a “wake-up call”, the accident reminded her that she needed to be with her kids. “I’m blessed to be alive. But I knew that I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to be there for my kids. I decided to divorce and be done with the Dennis stuff. That was it for me.”

In fact, Rodman, in a conversation with the Los Angeles Times, shared that the couple didn’t live together. Michelle and the kids were living separately, two miles away in Newport Beach. He said that he liked it that way. “We won’t live together. I like it like that. She and the kids come over on weekends,” Rodman said.

Both of Michelle’s kids have appreciated her mother for how hard she had worked to raise them. Trinity once shared how they lived in a car. Even though Moyer and Rodman tried to reconcile, the two ultimately divorced in 2012.

While Dennis Rodman’s efforts to reconnect with his children may come too late for Trinity and DJ, the unwavering love and sacrifices of Michelle Moyer have left an indelible mark on their lives. It’s a poignant reminder that family bonds, though strained, remain complex and deeply emotional. For now, the Rodman family’s journey is a testament to both the pain of the past and the strength it takes to move forward.
