“… A joke. The response alone.” Trinity Rodman’s blunt reaction to Dennis Rodman’s apology might have put the final nail in the coffin of their turbulent father-daughter relationship. If you’ve been following their dynamic, you know things were never smooth. But after the NWSL star’s candid revelations on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the tension seemed to hit an all-time high. Now, it looks like both are choosing to move forward with their own lives and loved ones.

Dennis Rodman, the larger-than-life NBA icon, is turning the page by focusing on his relationship with rapper Yella Yella. If you’ve been keeping an eye on his social media, you might have noticed clips of the two vibing together.

For those unaware, their romance first came into the spotlight in 2022 when Yella Yella shared a video of them spinning discs at a music event. Since then, the bond seems to have grown only stronger. The couple even started a joint YouTube channel in 2023.

On the other side, Trinity seems to be investing her energy into meaningful connections. Recently, she was spotted in an Instagram story shared by her half-sister, Teyana Lima, hanging out with her brother DJ Rodman, and their mother, Michelle Rodman. The family moment served as a reminder that, despite the drama, Trinity is surrounded by love and support.

Now, would fans have loved to see Dennis and Trinity reconcile? Probably. But seeing them content with where they are might just be the next best thing.

Is Trinity Rodman right to move on, or should she give Dennis another chance?

A quick recap of the recent high-voltage drama between Trinity and Dennis Rodman

Trinity opened up about her struggles with her father during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. If you thought growing up with the Worm as a dad might be fun, her description painted a very different picture. “He’s having parties 24/7… Bringing random b–s in. He loves the spotlight, loves the cameras… Loves bringing his children on stage and saying, ‘Oh, these are my kids,'” she said.

The emotional toll she described is enough to make anyone pause and wonder what it’s like to balance love and disappointment towards your own parent. The facade, however, didn’t fool the NWSL star for long. She revealed the heartbreaking news that she has lost hope of reconnecting with her father.

“I answer the phone now for, like, my conscience… Not for me. He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else.”

Dennis Rodman, however, tried making up for years of differences with an Instagram apology, saying, “Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be. But either way I still tried and I still try and never will stop.” But Trinity seemed to have already made up her mind. Her reaction to her father’s apology summed it up. “A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it and I’m done. Thank you.”

The chances of reconciliation, after all that transpired, seem very thin. So it’s best that both Trinity and Dennis Rodman do what they are doing presently: leaning on to the bonds that hold them strong for now.
