Is Rudy Gobert a Hall of Famer now? Not yet. He was indeed bestowed with a high honor, but this wasn’t where he would have wanted to be. The Frenchman is well-known for his defensive game. However, over the last few years, his performance has also been criticized by many. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has always openly criticized the Minnesota Timberwolves star, and that ultimately led to a beef between the two. However, that hasn’t kept O’Neal from adding Gobert to his favorites list.

Again, this isn’t the most favorable one. There’s not always aura and elegance on the basketball court. Some blunders and mishaps also happen, and the best and most hilarious ones are highlighted by Big Aristotle’s favorite segment, Shaqtin’ a Fool. Speaking of the 2022 NBA rebounding leader, he has been featured way too many times on the list.

In fact, the NBA player has been frequently showing up on the list, so much so that the 4x NBA champ didn’t waste time and named him the Shaqtin’ a Fool Hall of Famer. About time, wasn’t it? In a recent clip, some moments from Gobert’s latest game were highlighted, where he missed his shots multiple times. Frustrated over it, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Charles Barkley tried to justify it, but that was futile. O’Neal was too occupied with enjoying the moment.

Throughout the time the clip ran, O’Neal mimicked singing a Christmas song while the camera showed Smith and Chuck pretty much done by his hilarious antics. “The Shaqtin Hall of Famer is the gift that keeps on giving. Cue the music. Four something something. Three something something. Two something something. And a par 10,” O’Neal sang.

The next most hilarious moment was in November this year. The first spot was given to Heat coach Eric Spoelstra. But like always Gobert made it into the list. This time, it was for Gobert unintentionally tripping while taking anyone near him down as well. In a Miami Heat vs. Phoenix Suns game, Gobert where he fell trying to dunk a ball and down with him a Suns player standing near to himBy this time, the beef between the two was quite intense, and this event led the basketball legend Chuck to think that Gobert was a banned topic to discuss. Turns out, he is not. O’Neal himself assured him.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Rudy Gobert's $205 million contract justified, or is Shaq right about his performance?

Have an interesting take?

Despite the feuding, O’Neal’s list always has Gobert as the winner. Let’s take a look back at May’s highlights of this year. Here as well, Gobert is the winner. The clip shows Gobert trying to help another player get up who had tripped. However, instead of helping, Gobert slipped and fell close to his teammate.

While Smith appeared fed up, O’Neal excitedly urged Barkley to focus as he said, “Is this what Ant meant by, ‘Bring ya a**?'” Now, this was when Barkley admitted to Anthony that he had never been to Minnesota in about 20 years. How did Anthony Edwards respond? “Bring your a**” he replied. This line got so viral that it was also used by the Minnesota Tourism Website for promotions.

Gobert’s missed dunk also made it into the Shaqtin’ a Fool list. “Rudy Gobert beats the buzzer with an airball dunk,” O’Neal described as he placed him at No. 2. The last and fifth time is the segment from all the way back to the time when Gobert played for the Utah Jazz. After missing several shots, a frustrated Gobert went on to punch the supporting pole like a punching bag, as the coach watched in confusion. But what is the feuding between the two?

Interestingly, the Los Angeles Lakers star called out the Timberwolves star as the worst NBA player. He thought that Gobert needs to put in much more effort than he is already giving. He criticized Gobert’s $205 million deal. “If you sign a contract for $250 million, show me $250 million. There’s a reason why I walk funny, why I can’t turn my neck, and why I can’t do it. Because I played for about $120 million. You got guys like him who f*** the system over. They’re making all this money and they can’t f****** play. So, I don’t respect guys like that,” O’Neal said on Complex.

So, like Goberts’ presence on the list, their feuding has been old as well. But much later, O’Neal gave another explanation of his previous comment on Gobert and said, “It’s also personal motivation. I’m not hating. I’m telling you the truth. And if you don’t like the truth, that’s something you got to deal with. So now, it’s out there.” “It’s viral. So show me what you’re going to do, Rudy and Ben (Ben Simmons). Shut me up,” he said on USA Today’s “Sports Seriously”

And this time, Gobert also responded. He took to social media to write, “It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.”
