Chicago Bulls’ recent win against Atlanta Hawks has brought dual celebration for Coby White. On one hand, he has still kept his team’s playoff aspirations alive, and on the other, he scored his career-high 42 points against the Hawks. So naturally, it didn’t take much time for ex-Boston Celtics star Kendrick Perkins to extend his praise for Coby for his recent achievement.
“I know we not supposed to use the word “bag” but Coby white in his bag like he got fries at the bottom right now! God Bless America,” he posted on X. It is worth mentioning that this is the second time in this season that Coby White is setting his career-high record. Notably, earlier in the season, he scored 37 points against Sacramento Kings. Prior to this, the highest points in a game by Coby had come back in the 2020-21 season, coincidently against the Kings only.

Notably, the 24-year-old has shown major improvement this season as compared to his prior seasons. In his last season with the Bulls, Coby White averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game and the stat-line was not as low but was still not so impressive. However, this season, the Bulls star has shown tremendous growth with 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
Now it is to be seen if Coby White can keep up this performance for the Bulls’ next do or die situation match. Notably, the Bulls will face Miami Heat for a spot in the playoffs. And, it’s a high-stakes situation as the journey will come to an end for the losing team.

It is important to highlight that the Bulls will enter the play-in match riding high at the confidence of their recent win against Hawks. The Heat recently suffered a loss against the Philadelphia 76ers, losing their chance at a confirmed spot in play-offs.
However, the fact the Heat had a better season than the Chicago Bulls also cannot be completely ignored. Although Heat was just one spot above the Bulls in the conference standings, there is a significant difference in winning percentage between the two. The Heat had a winning percentage of 56.09, winning 46 of their 82 games. Meanwhile, Coby White’s Chicago Bulls had a winning percentage of 47.56, winning 39 of their 82 games.
However, in terms of stat-comparison, the Bulls have a slight edge over the Heat. As per Fox Sports, the Bulls have averaged 112.3 points, 43.8 rebounds, and 25.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Heat has averaged 110.1 points, 42.3 rebounds, and 25.8 assists per game. Since both teams are almost evenly matched, it is to be seen which one reserves its spot in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
