With a week left before the NBA Finals, a shift of attention towards other leagues like, MLB, UEFA, and WNBA has been undeniable. Draymond Green and Joel Embiid made an appearance at CBS Sports before the UEFA championship game, a few NBA stars tuned into Chicago Sky vs Indiana Fever, and here we have a Phoenix Suns icon, who is having a tough time watching MLB. The 65-year-old NBA veteran, who is a fan of the Chicago Cubs vented out his frustration on the team, ultimately giving up on them, even before the verdict was announced.
Eddie Johnson might have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. He tweeted after watching the second innings of the Chicago Cubs vs the Cincinnati Reds, “I am Done watching @cubs for now. I will check in after July 4th. That last inning did it for me. I am not putting myself through what I am seeing.”
However, the Cubs tied the game in the third innings, 4-4, which a fan pinpointed in the comments. A netizen told Johnson, “Might want to turn it back on, Eddie“, but 2x All-Star had enough. He replied, “Nope. Maybe I just gave them good luck.”

After all, looks like Johnson switching off the TV worked in favor of the Cubs. Sports can be both frustrating and rewarding. For Johnson, it was initially nerve-wracking, but the ultimate result turned out to be sweet.
Chicago Cubs turn the outcome, but does Eddie Johnson know about it?
The Cubs had a rough start to the game, but Justin Steele and Hayden Wesneski made sure things did not go out of hand. Steele had 5 strikeouts, while Wesneski had 3. Also, Seiya Suzuki and Dansby Swanson secured a home run each, that helped the Cubs beat Reds by two points, 7-5.
The Cubs are currently second in the National League Central division. They are six wins away from the top spot, which is held by the Milwaukee Brewers with a record of 35-23. However, if the regular season ended today, the Cubs would not make it to the playoffs. They are 7th seed in the National League Division, and only the first six teams get to participate in the playoffs.

So, the win today was a crucial one. However, it looks like Eddie Johnson did not watch it fully. He has made it clear he won’t tune into a Cubs game till July 4. But, once the NBA comes to an end around June 20, Johnson might be left with no choice.
