One of the best traditions in the NBA is back with another edition. That, of course, is Shaqtin’ A Fool by Shaquille O’Neal. The segment remains a weekly highlight, a compilation of the funniest goofs and miscues around the association. This week was no different as the NBA on TNT crew had a hilarious host of moments ready for the quarter to poke fun at.

The 4 candidates had a ton of variety. Firstly, was the early Rookie of the Year favorite Chet Holmgren. For him, it was the infamous clip of the 7’3″ center trying to back down 6-foot-tall Chris Paul in the post. But to no avail.

The next instance came from a common target for O’Neal – Rudy Gobert. During the game against the Golden State Warriors, which might be famous for other reasons, despite having a wide-open lane for a dunk, Gobert completely missed it.

It even brought an all-time quote from Shaquille O’Neal. “Rudy Gobert got stuffed before Thanksgiving.”?But, the team has been slowly impressing people. Charles Barkley had to acknowledge their success. “If they keep it up for another 3 weeks, I’ll apologize to the Timberwolves.”

Next on the list was another rookie. This time, it was poor Keyonte George who fell victim. After slipping on the court, George became the butt of jokes for the big man. “Nice slip, young fella. I’ll see you next fall.”?

However, the top spot was reserved for the new Portland Trailblazer DeAndre Ayton. Before the season, Ayton crowned himself a new nickname – “DominAyton“. Unfortunately, his production hasn’t been ideal to begin the year. The 4x NBA Champion wasted no time in aiming for the former 1st-overall pick.

DominAyton – Dominating at setting screens.”?Even Chuck had to join in on the fun. “My man had 3 picks and didn’t touch one body. They say the game’s getting physical, eh?”?

Even though Chet made it to the Shaqtin list, there wasn’t much to complain about his performance.

Despite Victor Wembanyama generating the most hype, Holmgren has been the front-runner for Rookie of the Year. Whether it be scoring, rebounding, or defense, last year’s draftee has been excellent in every facet.

His latest game against the Warriors might serve as his coming out party on the national stage. During the game where he hit his first buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime, Chet tallied 36 points and 2 blocks while rebounding at an elite rate.

So far, his shooting efficiency is off the charts. When he claimed that he could average 50/40/90 shooting splits, the common reaction was disbelief. But, through the first leg of the season, Chet Holmgren is making it a reality.
