Victory has been evasive for the Detroit Pistons for the 27th time now. The team is struggling, and fans have expressed disappointment as they seek a change. Amidst this, we are reminded of the time when Phoenix Suns legend Charles Barkley decided to roast the team brutally.

Back in 2019, Sir Charles’ comment on the Pistons caused a big controversy.

During the 2019 NBA Mexico City Games, the Detroit Pistons faced a similar fate while playing against the Dallas Mavericks. The team succumbed to a decisive defeat at the hands of Luka Doncic. Observing their lackluster performance, Sir Charles took a dig at the Pistons. Referencing the widely-spoken American policy decision at the time, Chuck said, “I talked to a couple of my friends in Detroit, they were saying please hurry up and get that wall so they can’t come back,”

The Pistons recently faced the Brooklyn Nets, hoping to turn the tables and break their embarrassing streak, but were unable to do so. Cade Cunningham is currently one of the best players on the Pistons’ roster. He contributed 41 points to help the Pistons, but his effort went in vain as the Nets overpowered Detroit 118-112. He could, however, be an instrumental part of the team’s success when he is healthy. Yet, it seems he has no helping hands.

If the Pistons experience two more defeats, they will unfortunately end up holding the record for the longest losing streak in NBA history. The fans of the franchise were so disappointed that they even started to demand a change in leadership.

The unwelcome chants from disappointed fans echoed in the air, just like their previous game against the Utah Jazz. Even in the absence of Pistons owner Tom Gores, the discontented crowd made their sentiments loud and clear. The frustrated supporters, having had enough, repeatedly called out, “Sell the team!” The team is desperately seeking a breakthrough while the fans clamor for a change of leadership.
