Even King Charles couldn’t resist talking about the Draymond Green incident. Gayle King had to ask Charles Barkley about his opinion on Green’s suspension. Chuck is a fan of DrayMagic and he’s been defensive about his acts. But he also wants him to not do things that will take his time away from the court.

“I like Draymond,” Chuck told his co-host. “But you can’t punch guys.” He wasn’t accepting King’s observations that it could’ve been an accident.

Draymond Green was ejected after 17 minutes of playtime for striking against Jusuf Nurkic’s face. The 2017 DPOY recently finished a five-game suspension for the chokehold incident but this time, Adam Silver has cracked the whip on him. Green is now on indefinite suspension with no clear timeline in sight.

Indefinite makes me…” Barkley began and said, “I don’t really know what that means honestly. Sounds to me like they’re going to make him undergo some kind of counseling.”

During his past suspension and this one, Chuck tried to be empathetic. Ahead of King Charles, Barkley was on the Dan Patrick Show where he recalled how he was quite similar to Green, especially in his final seasons.

The 1993 NBA MVP recalled taking out his frustration of not playing at his former level by getting into fights with teammates. He even got ejected from the game with his TNT best mate, Shaquille O’Neal once.

He sees similar frustration in Green. But he’d prefer the cycle didn’t repeat. “At some point, if you keep doing stupid stuff we can’t keep saying he’s a good dude.

As much as he gives Green the benefit of the doubt, Barkley was upset by his demeanor following the incident.

After the game, Draymond Green apologized to Jusuf Nurkic for hitting him unintentionally. But his statement, “I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do,” rubbed Barkley the wrong way.

That’s a flaw, bro, you letting people down,” Charles Barkley said on The Dan Patrick Show. He was disappointed that Green had a similar response after the chokehold incident.

Draymond needs to say ‘You know what, last time I got suspended I was wrong, I was wrong for what I did tonight,” Chuck stated
