It’s opening night in the association and we all know what that entails. While the fans look forward to finally enjoying NBA basketball, another part of the equation is the overreaction. Every year, without fail, the first few games bring with them some extreme reactions from the community. This year, that trend has already begun. Rather than waiting to see how it unfolds, Charles Barkley is ready to offer predictions after just one half of basketball, much to the chagrin of his partners.

With the Golden State Warriors facing off against former ally Kevin Durant, the hot takes are coming in quick.

While most wait a while before offering their prediction, Chuck is basing his idea behind one-half of basketball. According to the Phoenix Suns legend, the Warriors dynasty is over. In his rant, Barkley was at his harshest best, describing the competition Golden State has to face. Further, he even took some shots at the recent acquisition of Chris Paul.

“I love Chris Paul. This is a bad mix. It’s a bad mix for him…I saw some fools on TV this morning talking about how we’re not gonna underestimate the Warriors. The Warriors are cooked.”?

But, then Barkley went into detail about how much competition Stephen Curry and company have in store.

Even though it’s just opening day, the Chuckster is ready to write them off. He went so far as to say that they might be the fourth-best team in California behind the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, and the Los Angeles Clippers. It was the mention of the last team that drew a big response from Shaquille O’Neal.

As a Lakers legend, an anti-Clipper to the core, along with his Stephen Curry fandom, O’Neal was having none of the 1993 MVP’s slander. When Charles said, “If the Clippers can stay healthy, the Warriors…They’re the fourth-best team in California,”?Shaq drew a big yawn.

But, could Chuck be in the right here? After one game, the Warriors sure look like a team with their work cut out this season.

Could the Warriors dynasty be over?

Well, the results support Barkley’s claim. His former team, the Suns, defeated GSW 108-104 with some clutch plays from Devin Booker late in the game.

The Warriors found themselves in a hole against a Phoenix team that was majorly lacking in depth. Further, their opponent’s main offseason acquisition in Bradley Beal wasn’t even playing. However, there is room for optimism.

This is a new squad with a lot of moving parts. Moreover, their glue guy and one of the best defenders in the league, Draymond Green, was missing for Golden State. Apart from a nuclear Devin Booker, the team has largely been able to contain an explosive Suns offense. Maybe, the prediction from Barkley is a bit premature and not all right.
