While it looks like the NBA is leaving TNT for good, Charles Barkley is enjoying an early vacation. He’s tuned out the anxiety about Inside the NBA potentially ending with work, pleasure, golf, and an old friend. Chuck was spotted at Steve Harvey’s Charity Golf Classic and not just to shoot a few holes in the greens. His growing business, Redmont Vodka, is now an official partner of the Family Feud host’s charity event. So Barkley was repping Redmont while putting the worries about the NBA media rights deal aside for now.
Redmont Vodka shared a glimpse of Barkley and Harvey’s little collab on its official Instagram Stories. “We are honored to be a part of the Steve Harvey Charity Golf Classic,” the post read over a clip of Chuck and Steve at a presser for the same event, “It’s been a great day for golf,” they added.

While it is a great day for Chuck and Redmont Vodka, it’s not so much for the folks at TNT. Reports surfaced that the NBA is finalizing a $76 billion TV deal with ESPN, Amazon, and NBC while TNT remains on the sidelines. Its fate is still undecided, but it could potentially mean disbandment for the Inside Guys.
TNT doesn’t cover the NBA Finals. This means vacation for the Inside Guys began after the Western Conference Finals. Chuck went over to Bear’s Best Atlanta on June 5 for the two-day invitational hosted by Steve and Marjorie Harvey. The fundraiser benefits the Harvey Foundation’s philanthropic ventures in education and other outreach services.

Charles Barkley looks at ease amid Turner turmoil
Sir Charles was at the fundraiser’s opening. Though the weather wasn’t optimal, he said, “Ain’t okay to get wet. Thanks everybody for being here. Just have a wonderful, wonderful day. No bad days in the golf course.” Of course, he’d say that. He only has bad swings and hilarious misses on the course.
Apparently, the Harveys are even serving a special recipe made from Redmont Vodka at their event. Chuck’s spirits shared a recipe for the watermelon gin mint that the guests got here.

The situation at TNT could be weighing on him silently. Barkley tried to keep it lighthearted at first that NBA on TNT’s closure would mean a vacation to him. But lately, he’s been concerned about the job loss behind the scenes and lashed out at TNT execs for mishandling the negotiations. He proceeded to call them “clowns” making Turner issue a no-comment policy on the Inside Guys. Barkley defied the order and gave a critical interview to NY Times.
He has been silent on NBA reportedly finalizing the deal. What that means for TNT and Inside the NBA is not clear yet. Especially since Adam Silver hinted that they would want Chuck, Shaq, and Kenny to remain on NBA coverage. Chuck will kick back with golf and Redmont Vodka waiting to learn about TNT’s fate until then.
