Jalen Williams is letting his fashion make a statement of confidence. Unfortunately, Charles “Fashion Police” Barkley is ready to pack him to Galveston Fashion Week. That’s where he thinks everything he doesn’t like belongs. After that Game 3 bedazzled scuba mask, Williams arrived at Game 4 in what a few creative minds have described as a padded jacket for the head. Sir Charles was obviously not going to let this one pass silently.
If Charles Barkley was wound up by Williams’ Game 3 headgear, this one made him and the Inside Guys collectively go, “What the hell is that!” Shaquille O’Neal felt Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles inspired it. But Chuck quickly changed his tune. As per him, the confidence that comes to pull off this pre-game fit could translate into a game-winner.
“I tell you what, the Pelicans ain’t got no chance tonight,” Barkley suddenly said about Williams’ style leaving Shaq wheezing on the side. “‘Cause if you come to the game like that … if you come to the game lookin’ like that, you gonna beat somebody. There’s no way OKC losing, that boy come to the game lookin’ like that, it is over for the Pelicans.”

Could it be true? Williams & Co. could sweep the Pelicans in one game to head to the next round. By the end of the first quarter, both teams were tied at 21. Williams had made 4 points in eight minutes, just behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 6 points. Alas, amidst all this, Barkley’s fascination with Williams’ head-spinning headgear only lasted so long. His compulsion to roast Galveston’s beach took over right away.

Chuck’s fashion is Galveston-inspired
As the stars of OKC put up 20 points each and beat the Pelicans in New Orleans in Game 3, Williams made sure people noticed his game and off-court style. He stepped into the post-game presser in a hat that reminded many of diving gear, only it was encrusted with crystals around the opening. The TNT crew usually comments on pre-game fits but this one couldn’t be kept out of Chuck’s attention. His fashion choices, Barkley believes, earned him a trip to Galveston.

Very similar to what he said tonight, Barkley replied, “He must’ve known he was going to play well… he looked like a damn idiot.” He added a PSA for kids to avoid dressing up like Williams. At least his game left him impressed. Williams could be sending the Pelicans off to a vacation. But instead of Cancun, Barkley would ship them off to Galveston, the other city he’s made an enemy out of.
If fashion maketh a man, then Chuck might be on to something about Williams’ exuding confidence in his clothes. Do you think his style is Galveston-ready?
