It was inevitable that as soon as Draymond Green was back on court, Charles Barkley was going to chime in. He’s been rooting for Draymagic’s return, but the improved 2.0 version. The latest development prompted another warning from Barkley that sounded a lot similar to what the Warriors star himself said upon his return.
“It’s great to have Draymond back, great to have him back,” Chuck told the media while out and about in New York City on a Wednesday morning. “He’s a very good player, he’s good for the NBA. I hope he gets rid of the antics because he’s a very good player and a good dude. But like I said, he’s got to stop putting himself in bad situations.”
Barkley is probably in the Big Apple for his CNN show, King Charles. The show is about him and Gayle King talking about the current events of the week. Earlier on the show, he had a similar warning for Green too when he was suspended.

After three and a half weeks in counseling, where he didn’t pick up a basketball for half of it, Green returned to practice with the Warriors. His teammate Brandin Podziemski started a round of applause and the head coach, Steve Kerr, was ecstatic to have him back. Green would tell the media he didn’t deserve that.
“I’ve cost my team enough. I’ve cost this organization enough,” he said, echoing something similar to what Barkley has been repeating regarding his antics. He’s yet to be cleared for a game, but he’s undeniably under scrutiny.
It wasn’t only slamming Jusuf Nurkic or putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. There were the previous season incidents of stomping on Domantas Sabonis and decking former teammate Jordan Poole. Because of that, Sir Charles with a sketchy record of on-court fouls himself hopes Green stays on track.
“Obviously, two big suspensions are a big deal. He’s got to walk a straight and narrow line. He’s just not been fair to himself and to his team,” Barkley reiterated. From what Green has stated, it sounds like ‘message received’.

Charles Barkley and Draymond Green’s history
There’s evidence of Green noticing Barkley’s commentary on him if not heeding it. Like the time he called out Chuck for claiming the Warriors are “cooked”. That doesn’t stop the new talk show host from trying.
Upon his indefinite suspension, Barkley said on the King Charles show, “I like Draymond. But you can’t punch guys.” He further added, “At some point, if you keep doing stupid stuff, we can’t keep saying he’s a good dude.”
